It's hard to get good interpretations nowadays in terms of great games with great gameplay. Just crossing my fingers on this one for real.Comment

You just know 2K Sports will deliver. They have a history of being very creative. Remember the music editor in NFL 2K5? You could play your own clips for touchdowns, first downs, even the intro to the game. It was great. Obviously that would apply to ring entrances in Boxing, something that EA has ignored. And online leagues...I'm sure that would work rather well. Maybe have some type of Boxing federation.
It'll be great, count on it.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

I would like to see them just do heavyweights and a middleweight division (plus or minus 10 pounds). Instead of trying to do 6 different divisions and handling them all with mediocrity, just concentrate on two and make them solid. Plus, these are the two most popular divisions by a mile.
For everyone that says EA has all the fighters, I think that is way off. Hell, they only have 27 fighters. I could name a 100 heavyweight and middleweights that would be great to have in the game.Comment

Dont forget that a license is not an exclusive license and no way can EA gobble exclusive licenses on all or even half of the notable fighters.
I dont think it will be a problem getting real boxers in the game, just takes a check written. EA doesnt have exclusive license to the boxers in FNR3.Comment

Re: Take Two taking a stab at boxing games on next-gen systems?
I'm So Happy. If it's on the XBOX 360, then I know they'll do much better than EA did with Rn3. Rn3 is pretty tight but after you play a few days, it get lackluster. Just seems like Rn2 all over again. Too much stupidity on the A.I. part. Can just jab and counter all day. Almost like the A.I. doesn't strategize well enough. Killing that game.
On another note, if it's a Rocky spinoff, then I wouldn't mind getting that. not paying $60 for a mediocre game though. I think they'll do pretty great if they add the VIP too. That could really open up the game to a new depth that would make my boxing so much better. Even more depth in the career mode too. I'd definitely love to get that. If it has all those things that we're waiting for EA to implement, then I'm sold. I wonder if they'll try to use a type of analog boxing or something. The analog boxing is great but it could use some tweaking a bit. I can only wonder. I hope it costs Fight Night to step up too.
Ever since the NFL exclusive, I've seen how important it is to have competition. Just brings out the best in everrthing honestly. Sometimes it ain't needed, but it's definitely needed now. SO HAPPY!!Comment

Originally posted by fistofrageI think Welterweight is the best division in boxing and currently has the biggest following right now with Mayweather, Cotto, Hatton, Judah, Spinks, Gatti, etc.
As far as the biggest following, hard to tell, as I am of the thought that if the heavys don't have a headliner or a story, boxing is just a niche sport. Heavys are the only division that can bring in and sustain the general public.Comment

I don't think this will be a "Rocky" type boxing game full of glitz. Take Two takes their sports games seriously and tries to make them simulations.
This is great news for those that hate what Kudo's done to the Fight Night series. And hopefully, having some competition, Kudo might actually <gasp> listen to the consumers.
How much do you want to bet that after 2K7 boxing comes out, Fight Night will suddenly have a deep career mode, robes, realistic entrances, real first and last names, basically everything that we've been begging for for the past 3 years.
Kudo sucks. I hope Take Two KO's his career.Comment
