I understand needing a big name boxer for marketing purposes, but a sick boxer editor and great gameplay,I'll never touch FightNight again.

      My exact thoughts!
Poe is an advocate for realistic boxing videogames.

If they could get those guys and the gameplay down right then not only could this be a great game but it could also sell well because it would have some the best fresh talent and not just the same old boxers every year.
And Mayweather, Foreman, and Lennox Lewis. They also could have a better create a fighter with an easier way to post settings like numbers next to each one or like in NCAA Football 06 a code generated.

Exactly! With a deep name database the announcers could say any combo of names they wanted. I'm sure EA doesn't own the rights to the first name Roy and the last name Jones.
Also, I'm sure they'll allow us to import our own music. No more ring entrances to EA Trax crap music. You can have Gatti enter to "Thunderstruck" or your own created fighter to "P.O.D.'s 'Boom'".

I can't wait to hear more about this game. Bye-bye Kudo/EA!

I agree. It's all or nothing.

I would be happy with the best create a boxer you could ever possible.

            No need for real boxers.

The only thing that scares me though is 2k has generally made crappy create a player modes. They usually offer like 7 faces to choose from and such. It's the one area where EA is actually better than them so I hope they figure that out and improve.

You guys expect VC to make a boxing sim, when VC added slam zone to their 'sim' baseball title?? It was only taken out this yr due to the back lash, but VC contended it was realistic..No, VC won't make a sim boxing game.. It's clear to EA & VC that sim games 'don't sell'..

I don't know how much of that is true.
VC made the most realistic and sim basketball game(s) ever in NBA2K6 and their NCAA title.
Also, their hockey title is a lot more sim than EA's and I believe they outsold them in that department as well.

I think VC's boxing game will be a heck of a lot more sim than Fight Night. Heck, all they have to do is add rankings and they'll have a more realistic portrayal of the sweet science.

Correct me if I am wrong, but VC doesn't produce the baseball games, Kush does.

Correct, Kush does develop the MLB game. Take Two/Visual Concepts owns Kush. Visual Concepts is a subsidiary of Take Two Interactive Software, and while they don't actually develop the MLB game, they are considered "responsible."

To me the bottom line is that 2K Sports has always focused on the consumer and not pop culture. They will make a boxing game with the understanding that EA has dropped the ball in many ways, and build on that. But, that won't be their foundation to build a boxing game. Their foundation has always been creativity and uniqueness. That in itself will put this game miles ahead of a graphicly enhanced Fight Night game.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

Agreed. Very little effort will be required on VC's part to make a better boxing game than Fight Night. I have no worries.

Well, we should know that VC isn't making the boxing game, "Venom Games" is making the boxing game. Venom is responsible for the Rocky Legends game. I would expect the game to play a lot like Rocky Legends.

As for Kush and VC...VC isn't really "responsible" in the development of MLB and NHL 2K6. That's the same saying that Tiburon (who makes Madden) is responsible for "EA Canada's" flaws of NBA Live. They are both owned by EA, but that doesn't mean they co-develop. VC is usually responsible for the online and statistical (player ratings) aspects of Kush's game.
