Re: EA UFC 2 - How's Your Universe Going
For guys having trouble with excel use text wrangler, it's free. Usually used for some aspects of website coding etc it is working great for me. I took the last file that was posted and due to me having a Mac it downloaded into preview and was unable to edit. Select all and copy and paste it into text wrangler you'll have to do some spacing to get things to line up but everything is there in single lines and the headers are all there. Just have to space the numbers to line up with the headers. Wasn't much work at all. Got 2 divisions done and ranks numerically organized in about 10 minutesComment

Re: EA UFC 2 - How's Your Universe Going
I've decided to do the following format for number of fights:
Fight Night and Fight night on Fox: 8 fights per card
UFC Events: 11 fights per card
5 Main Card (Main event and Co Main Event if applicable)
5 preliminary card
1 UFC Fight Pass
This way I can use more fighters. It shouldn't add too much time on an event.Comment

Re: EA UFC 2 - How's Your Universe Going
Started my UFC universe a few days ago. I used a random numbers generator to rank every one in their respective classes. I then set up a single elimination tourney for each class. My original plan was to sim each fight but I could not find a way to sim events in game. So I went back to the random number generator and simmed that way. Basically just generated a 1 or 2. If i t was a one the top fighter won and if it was a 2 the bottom fighter one. Once I got down to the last two fighters for each class I had my first PPV ready to go.
Fighters highlighted in yellow were controlled by me. At the fighter select screen I did a random number gen, 1-999. Even meant I controlled the fighter on the right side of the screen and odd meant left side.
For future events after a fight both fighters will be unavailable for 4 months. This should allow me to use most of the fighters.
I will have 1 PPV a month and 3 or 4 Fight nights. PPV will have one or two title fights and the rest will be #1 contender fights and one or two random fights, possible cross division type fights.
The next event will be Fight night Barnett vs Velasquez
Stay tuned for the results......NHL: Chicago Blackhawks
NFL: Green Bay Packers
NCAA: Wisconsin Badgers
Soccer: Manchester United/Real Madrid/AS Roma/Lyon/Bayern Munich/Chicago FireComment

Re: EA UFC 2 - How's Your Universe Going
Major thanks to the people who made the original spreadsheets (finished mine last night). I used to just do things from my head for years but this is so much easier and so much more fun.
Two of my early studs: Jessica Andrade: she's on a tear right now. First fight 1:50 armbar, 2nd fight 59 sec brutal KO.
Nick Diaz: Diaz vs Thompson, Diaz straight up out boxed him, forced Thompson to take him down then immediately Submitted him with a Kimura.
Just a note for those wondering, I do CPU vs CPU, I personally like the having no control and letting it play out. I've seen 5 CPU fights over the the last few days that were better than most of any user vs CPU or user vs user fight that I've seen.Comment

The HW belt was the Headliner of my last card. Werdum killed Miocic. Seriously, I think he died.Comment

Re: EA UFC 2 - How's Your Universe Going
I have to say "Thank You" to Jeremy for the spreadsheet. Several years ago I made that sheet...I think it was for UFC 2010 or Undisputed 3...Jeremy has made so many changes to it and has continued to maintain the sheet.
When clicking on his file and seeing my name still there on the FAQ word doc he attached I was pleasantly surprised, but, I have to openly give all credit to Jeremy for the sheet. It's been his baby for awhile now and he should take full ownership of it.
I just picked up UFC 2 today on a whim - it was on sale at Best Buy - and toyed with the idea of running a universe again. I will certainly make use of this sheet when I do.Comment

Re: EA UFC 2 - How's Your Universe Going
This is my first Fight Night card. I ran a few samples that I still counted but this was the first "Real" event of my Universe.
UFC FN1: Alvarez v. Diaz (8 fights) Bell Centre: Montreal-Quebec, Canada
Undercard
21 Kailin Curran wins via TKO (GNP) over 22 Alexandra Alba 1st RD
Alba's undefeated streak comes to an end as Curran completely dominates in boxing, forcing Alba into a takedown attempt. Curran unleashes a flurry of heavy elbows and punches to seal this one
16 Sergio Pettis wins via TKO (GNP) over 17 Chris Beal 2nd RD
Pettis dominates on the feet, Beal's frantic TD results in a GNP victory for Pettis.
Main Card
13 Frankie Saenz wins via Split Decision over 12 Cody Garbrandt 3 RDS Fight of the Night Bonus
This was a back and forth fight in every aspect. Both guys were rocked and both could've won this one. I personally thought Garbrandt won slightly.
13 Brian Ortega wins via Split Decision over 12 Hacran Dias 3 RDS
Another fight of the night candidate, this one was back and forth as well. Both fighters were rocked numerous times, but Ortega was more efficient and had some big time shots.
24 Ryan LaFlare wins via Unanimous Decision over 18 Gunner Nelson 3 RDS
This was a great fight. LaFlare dominated with pure boxing the first two rounds. Nelson came out strong in the 3rd with a huge overhand that almost put LaFlare out. Nelson had a fantastic 3rd round, but just came on a little too late
4 Jacare Souza wins via TKO (GNP) over 5 Michael Bisping 1st RD
Bisping dominated with his boxing early but for some reason decides he wants to go for a takedown. This results in a beautiful hook sweep by Souza followed with some vicious GNP shots to put Bisping out.
Co-Main Event
#1 Contender Fight: 3 Carla Esparza wins via Armbar over 2 Claudia Gadelha 1st RD (Esparza will fight Jedrzejczyk next) Sub Bonus
I fully expected Gadelha to come out and rock Esparza but I was severely mistaken. Esparza out boxed Gadelha forcing Gadelha into a takedown which she sprawled beautifully. Flipped her over to mount and sunk in a nasty
armbar for the victory
Main Event
#1 Contender Fight: 2 Eddie Alvarez wins via KO over 7 Nate Diaz 1st RD (Alvarez will Fight Dos Anjos next) KO Bonus
Well with this fight I was hoping to give Nate the chance at a title shot with Dos Anjos after the huge McGregor win. Alvarez was having none of that. KO'd Diaz with a nasty uppercut one minute into the fight to end it.Last edited by Maverick04; 03-26-2016, 11:40 PM.Comment

Re: EA UFC 2 - How's Your Universe Going
UFC FN2: Benavidez v. Cejudo (8 fights) Rio Arena: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Undercard
16 Ashlee Evans-Smith wins via KO (GNP) over 17 Marion Reneau 3rd RD
Evans-Smith dominated this from start to finish, rocking Reneau 3 times. A nasty left hand in the 3rd resulted in a mount and a KO victory for Evans-Smith
22 Chris Holdsworth wins via Unanimous Decision over 23 Joe Soto 3 RDS
Holdsworth dominated on the feet the first two rounds, however Soto got a takedown and delivered some nasty shots from full mount that were very close to KO'ing Holdsworth. Overall Holdsworth was just more efficient and did more damage.
Main Card
9 Tim Kennedy wins via Guillotine over 11 Uriah Hall 2nd RD
Kennedy completely dominated Hall in this fight. Hall, who was struggling on the feet, attempted a takedown that was sprawled by Kennedy. This resulted in a very tight Guillotine from Kennedy to end the fight.
23 Erick Silva wins via TKO (GNP) over 19 Martin Kampmann 1st RD
This one was back and forth early in the fight with flurries of punches and kicks from both fighters. Kampmann takes down Silva and gets swept. Silva follows with GNP shots for the victory.
6 Alexis Davis wins via KO over 9 Bethe Correia 1st RD
Either Davis is that good or Correia is terrible, Correia looked like very bad in this fight not amounting any offense at all. Davis lands a flurry of punches knocking Correia out cold.
4 Urijah Faber wins via KO over 7 Thomas Almeida 1st RD KO Bonus
Man I haven't seen Faber look this good since his WEC days. Almeida had no answer for anything Faber did on the feet or on the ground. After a slamming takedown by Faber, Almeida gets up and meets a flurry of punches by Faber. In that exchange Faber lands an uppercut that turns off the lights and Almeida's undefeated streak comes to an end.
Co-Main Event
10 Minotouro Nogueira wins via Armbar over 13 Jim Manuwa 2nd RD Fight of the Night and Sub Bonus
This fight, WOW, Manuwa destroys Nogueira on the feet for the first 2 rounds. In the 3rd Nogueira starts getting the upper hand in boxing hits Manuwa with a big shot and takes him down. Passes to mount, and sinks in an effortless armbar for the huge comeback victory.
Main Event
#1 Contender Fight: 4 Henry Cejudo wins via KO (GNP) over 2 Joseph Benavidez 1st RD ( Cejudo will Fight Johnson next)
Cejudo turned Benavidez into a ragdoll in this one. From standup, clinch, and the ground, Cejudo landed big shots from every position. Late in the round Cejudo takes Benavidez down, passed to mount, and unleashes a flurry of elbows to KO Benavidez.Last edited by Maverick04; 03-26-2016, 11:31 PM.Comment

Re: EA UFC 2 - How's Your Universe Going
I've decided to join the universe fun. I work at home, so the plan is to run cards in the background while I work.
This universe will have a twist, starting as a small organization in 1993. 12 heavy weight fighters were selected at random to compete in the first event (very exciting lineup). UFC 1 will be an 8 man tournament with two alternate fights. Since there isn't a way to incorporate damage from 1 fight to the next (1 day tourney). The tournament will be held over multiple events. There will be a system for injuries/medical suspension so the alternate fighters may come into play.
As the match maker, I've matched the fighters and set the alternates. Here are the fighters selected by the random generator and their booked matchup.
Tournament Fights:
- Mike Tyson vs Pat Barry - I love this fight and want Tyson to have every opportunity to move on in this tournament. Someone is getting KTFO!
Final fight of the night. We're hoping for a quick KO.
Round 1 - Tyson wins that round. He almost finished Barry twice, once with knees to the head from the clinch.
Round 2 - Barry just got KTFO! Boxing is the best martial art.
Winner - Mike Tyson KO R2
- Bas Rutten vs Mirko Cro Cop - Favorite matchup of the 1st round. Someone is getting KTFO!
No way this goes into the 5th round.
Round 1 - Goes to Cro Cop with a nasty head kick.
Round 2 - Rutten lands a big head kick this round, give it to Bas.
Round 3 - Another for Rutten. By the end of the round both guys were exhausted, it looked like a bar room fight.
Round 4 - Mirko takes another big head kick. Rutten gases trying to finish. Cro Cop lands a huge huge head kick and follows up with a punch with Rutten on the ground. The ref stops it, Cro Cop wins!
Winner - Cro Cop 1:50 R4 winner by KO.
Mirko took a ton of damage in that war. Will he be back next round?
- Mark Hunt vs Frank Mir - Walk off?? Mir is messing up our tournament of strikers.
Please finish this fight quick or we are going to run out of time on the PPV.
Round 1 - Bad blood at the weight-in, no glove touch. Hunt wins round 1 in a slug fest.
Round 2 - Mir so so so close to an arm bar finish, but Hunt escapes at the last second. Let's give Mir round 2.
Round 3 - Mir does some GnP damage in first half the round. Back on the feet and Mir is abusing Hunts body. Hunt recovers. Clear round for Mir.
Round 4 - Hunt almost finishes the fight. Mir was punch drunk, somehow lands a takedown. Hunt was fighting off an arm bar to end the round. Clear round to Hunt.
Round 5 - This is the most competitive fight of the night. Mir just got dropped. Hunt follows to the ground. Mir gets Hunts back and hurts him. Both men seem to be recovering. Mir got the arm bar, he got the arm bar! This looked to be Hunts fight but Mir just ripped his arm off. The crowd has no clue what just happened.
Winner - 2:42 Round 5 by Arm Bar - Frank Mir
- Minotauro Nog vs Josh Barnett - Another fun match concluding a tournament with a old school feel.
Our first tournament fight, good thing the universe has a suspend feature. Will we see a finish??
Round 1 - Give it to Barnet.
Round 2 - Barnet did more damage over the round but Nog had a full mount late and did some damage. Slight edge to Barnet in round 2.
Round 3 - Nog might have rode out a round on the ground.
Round 4 - Barnet almost finishes the fight with a head kick. Round 4 to Barnet.
Round 5 - Going to decision again? I thought Barnet was going to finish it in the last minute as I fell asleep but Nog got a take down. Big head and leg damage to Nog. Another round to Barnet I have it 49-46.
Winner - 50-45, 50-45, 48-47 Barnett
Alternate Matches:
- Jared Rosholt vs Junior Dos Santos - Yes, JDS should be on the main card but this isn't a democracy. JDS has an alternate keeps the tournament an old school feel.
Fight 2 coming up! I expect nothing less than a JDS finish in the fight. He is on the record saying he is very upset that he was not selected for the tournament. We need a quick KO or this will be a long night. Rogan is talking about Rosholt's world class chin. He walks in the cage slow and give JDS a nasty glare. Buffer yells it is another Main Event of the evening. Why not, it is UFC 1.
Round 1: Blood all over the cage from the 1st fight. Almost the entire first round is spent on the ground trading positions. JDS wins the round by doing more damage.
Round 2: Rosholt taunts JDS and JDS lights him up light a tree, however Rosholt recovers. They go to the ground an Rosholt gets the back and tried a rear naked but JDS defends. Rosholt lands some nasty GnP. Close round, but I'm giving it to JDS.
Round 3: JDS 101 strikes Rosholt 90. JDS defends another Rear Naked. Round 3 is a slug fest, JDS gets tripped and Rosholt misses on an axe kick. Another round for JDS?
Round 4: JDS rocks Rosholt with an uppercut, it might be the end but Rosholt saves himself with a TD. Goldie thinks Rosholt may have a fractured orbital. Another round for JDS.
Round 5: JDS lands a kick that has Rosholt limping. These guys are gassed. Another decision, I'm going 50-45 JDS
Winner: 49-46 JDS
- Todd Duffee vs Shawn Jordan - First match in MMA history.
Shawn Jordan enters the cage, he is looking very out of shape. Todd Duffee looks ready to go. Bruce Buffer is announcing the fighters and he just said it is the main event of the evening.... what is he smoking??
Opening round fights are 5 rounds real-time, simulating the original UFC format as close as we can. They touch gloves. Jordan connects first with a big shot. Duffee begins to taunt. Jordan get Duffee in a clinch and lands a couple solid shots. Jordan hits a single leg. They randomly trade positions until it gets back to standing. Jordan is taunting and lands a big shot. They trade shots standing and Jordan is taunting more. Duffee lands a huge double leg slam. Close round, Duffee might have stole it late.
Round 2: Duffee up 58 to 43 on strikes landed thus far. It is a back and forth slug fest, Duffee landed a huge kick to the body. Duffee with another big power double slam but he looks tired. Jordan is a bloody mess. Round 2 is all Duffee, he is taunting Jordan to close the round.
Round 3: Duffee drops Jordan with a nasty combo, but Jordan recovers quickly. Duffee takes the round again, but Jordan does some damaged to end the round.
Round 4: Stat showing Duffee's one KD. They are trading shots but Duffee seems to be winning the exchanges. Jordan just landed his second TD of the round. They are back to their feet but Jordan did some decent GnP. Duffee hits a great combo with a suplex takedown. Both guys are gassed. Close round, but I think it goes to Duffee.
Round 5: Jordan is swinging at ghost. Duffee rocks Jordan with an upper cut, but Jordan quickly gets a TD. Duffee attempts a chock but Jordan gets free. Goldie says Jordan is clearly losing. Back on the feet and another huge combo by Duffee. Jordan can hardly stand. And we go to a decision. I have it 50-45 Duffee
Winner 50-45, 49-46, 49-46 Duffee
KO of the Night - Tyson
Sub of the Night - Mir

Re: EA UFC 2 - How's Your Universe Going
Not sure if one exists, but would anyone be interested in a Google Drive spreadsheet(s) to track fights, records, rankings, etc? I'm working on one now and would gladly share it.
I'm guessing there's an easy way for me to share just a template and then let people duplicate it to their own Drive.Comment
