Not once with the many threads that were posted over there did he chime in.

My feeling is that they knew from the start that this mode was going to be absolute rubbish and that is why they released little to no details before launch. They were banking on us offline players to just go with the flow and give the benefit of the doubt. Which we did we took the bait hook, line, and sinker. I even was a dummy for by the deluxe edition just for the heck of it even though I was not planning on playing UT.

There is an old age saying fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. I can sit and guarantee EA and GPD that when EA UFC 3 comes out if I do not see a trailer for "A NEW and Improved career mode. You spoke we listened" mantra and the footage to back it up as much of the love for UFC and video games that I have I'm sorry but not sorry I will not purchase any future titles. Online is not the future of gaming there are still many of us offline players who are out there and want to be heard.
Absolutely true. I do have some cool ideas which could be added to career mode.

    1. Add more companies like in EA MMA & UFC U3
    2. Add weigh ins, interviews etc.(with animations)
    3. Have sudden events like Chuck Liddel came out of retirement, because he thinks you aren't the real champ and more talk etc.
    4. Ability to add retired fighters to the game roster AKA Guys like GSP
    5. Training camps &teams

The Career mode sucks, but I don't mind the straight foward approach. I just wish the A.I. was better, and intill they fix the A.I. the game modes suffer and gets boring quick from A.I. wasting there stamina.

Re: Official UFC 2 Career Discussion

These ideas to improve career mode are all good. I think most importantly they need to improve the basic foundation of the mode. Simple things like being able to look through the rankings and view each of the fighters in detail...strengths/weaknesses, attributes, outcomes of their last few fights, maybe even attribute boosts from being on a win streak...these types of details need to be in there. Make it more dynamic with realistic retirements and a good mix of new generated fighters coming into the ranks.

There also needs to be more variety with the training, more attributes that you can develop throughout the career, and more build-up to each fight. The interviews & weigh-ins, as mentioned should all be in there.
The training needs to be more detailed & comprehensive, or else it will inevitably become just a chore to do.

Those are just a few things they could add, but on top of what's missing the things that were added this year were mostly complete busts. The training injuries, which there seems to be a consensual disliking towards because they are too excessive & the training setbacks due to things like a plumbing failure in your gym - these don't add any value to the game and are mostly just annoying nuisances. The wear & tear meter doesn't seem very accurate either, on top of being kind of a generic way to handle the toll that fighting would take on your body. Plus shouldn't some fighters tolerate this much more than others? Maybe there could be severe injuries that effect attributes for a period of time or even permanently, but just a meter that seems to go up no matter how much you get hit in your fights kind of sucks.

I remember the fight night series from back in the day having a mediocre career mode that was more in depth than this. How is the career mode for this game..in this day and age..with the power of these systems..not 10x better?

Is there any setting that makes the CPU less cheap. Right now it's stamina drain is a fraction of mine; and one of it's strikes is like ten of mine. I'm not saying I want any kind of advantage, but something more balanced would be nice. This is supposed to be a game based on a Prize sport. If people were actually playing this for money, EA would get shut down quick. Fixing fights is a crime in most states.

It's the terrible boss system they put in after nobody asked for it. They pick someone you're about to fight and juice them up to give you a harder fight. I fought DC twice and the first time was a very easy win for my veteran fighter but before the second (which was an instant rematch since I'd won his belt. JBJ is gone but Rampage is still #2) I got the special fight intro thing and the DC I faced was absurd. It took at least three times the punishment to put him down and he was rocking me with shots that I had no problem handling in the first fight. And this always happens when I get that intro package. I had to break out every AI cheese in the book to finally beat him, and my two losses are from those type of fights as well.

I wish there was PRIDE, STRIKEFORCE and WEC. Would make the Career 100000x times more interesting!

GOOLD OLE EA MMA had this and it was awesome.

Hopefully in EA UFC 3 or 4 then.

Re: Official UFC 2 Career Discussion

Ok, so decided to start new career with Female fighter this time round...

Well, everything was going fine, until I got Fighter Challenge from Ronda Rousey (surprise she dropped to 14th place, when I was 15th).

I maxed out my Stand Up Game to 99 (ok almost maxed). The thing is... You cannot KO this bitch.

I tried. Got her down, Top Mounted, threw 30 or 40 ELBOWS at her face. On the diagram she had RED head all over. Yep, no TKO. No stoppage. The fight continued to Round 2. Same thing happened. This time instead of elbows threw punches. Yep, nothing changed. No TKO.

Round 3. Rousey head still RED, she throws 2 kicks at me, rocking me, I lose by KO on the floor.

I mean, come the **** on. This is ****ing ridiculous!

ha, I thought you were going to say, the fight ended and you lost by decision. That keeps happening to me. This game is so freakin broken.

So I take you play AI on Hard/Pro? If not, try it. You will be fuming at this garbage system.

I can hit 40-60 clean straight punches at AI and they won't get rocked even once (maxed out strength too as I do max out STU first).

I had a battle with Rory MacDonald and I was winning until 2nd round, but... Then **** happened. I threw uppercut which landed, but AI countered with straight followed by axe kick. Yep, 2 hits, I am KOed down, follow up with elbow to face, followed by punches. I am TKOed.

I threw over 200 hits, various ones to face/body/legs. He only needed 2 to ko me out of the game. Just like that.

If someone thinks this game needs to get harder then yes, you might be right, but... Balance it out. Stats should play bigger role than this stupid handicap bull**** crap. The same goes on under FIFA hood (player teams get handicapped while AI teams get boosted).

That's the boss system in work.

Every EA game is like that, have you ever seen madden on HOF setting actually play fair? lol Nope it's a cheese fest till you use sliders.

Same goes for pretty much any sports game with sliders. NBA 2K is no better.

I just want a smart, aggressive, stamina managing AI.

While the "boss system" is very crap it isnt as bad as EA UFC 1 if you remember that, rofl. You'd fight someone with "KO Punch Power" and one hit would knock you out cold.

simply put the devs should've took more inspiration from fight night champion.. it had a champion mode AND legacy mode.. the career in UFC 1 & 2 is basically legacy mode from champion and is arguably worse here.

but to EA the ideology now is why waste time and resources when we can just copy and paste in the same career mode each year with minimal changes and people will still lap it up.. FIFA's career for example has basically been the same since FIFA 12.. i would say they turned their attention to developing "ultimate team" but even that gets minimal changes once its established in the series and it nets them extra income for the life span of the game..

there is no incentive for them to bother at this stage.. and seeing dev's say they care about the single player experience is just laughable.
