ELO ranking system with a modifier for winning with a lower rated fighter. Undisputed did this. There is no reason not to use a system like this other than to try and differentiate yourself from them. However, this was perfect. Sure people still boosted and such, but it was still the best way to rank people. As well as reward/punish for the match depending on the fighters, rankings, and outcome.
Would you like to see more incentive to use the lower ranked fighters?

Re: Would you like to see more incentive to use the lower ranked fighters?
Large roster is useless w/o motivation to use low OVR fighters.
Devs must to solve this problem.
How?
1. More OVR difference between fighters = less RP for win w high OVR and more RP for win w low OVR.
2. High OVR fighters gives less RP than lower OVR fighters.
3. RP penalty for playing the same fighter several times in a row.
More OVR fighter - less times in a row before penalty begins. Low OVR - more times possible.
=> To gain more RP and to rise up in Leaderboard you will need to play more time with lower OVR fighters and win = skilled players gain more OVR and more higher in Leaderboard.Comment

Bring back random! I could care less about points, more about winning.
I don't mind weak players picking the best, but it is pathetic when really talented gamers feel the need to be expert J Jones fighters.
And on the subject of top fighters, they need to be toned down--too fast, unlimited stamina, and they seem to have phantom reach capabilities.

I'm another that doesn't give a crap about "points" does nothing for me. Don't care about the leaderboard.
I don't know what the answer is. All I care about is fun fights, that's what makes me play this game not fighting Jon Jones thirty times in a row.Comment

Re: Would you like to see more incentive to use the lower ranked fighters?
Not really, and I play a decent amount of unranked but sometimes I wanna play both.
If you love the points thing that's fine, not saying change it. But been doing this since 09 in every MMA/boxing game possible. Gets a bit tiring after 7 years.
We're up to what 260 fighters in the game, and I play the same 5 every time? I literally avoid light heavyweight in ranked because of Jones.
Maybe they can figure out a solution like an equal stats mode or something similar. Isn't the point of these games to keep improving and adding new ideas?Comment
