Re: I hate the parry so, so much
Yh agree. If they could just do it in a more realistic way it would be fine cuz parries are apart of the sport. It's just that it's not done right.Comment

Re: I hate the parry so, so much
I believe that the whole blocking needs to change.Nobody holds his hands to his head and is safe from a head kick.
The way blocking should work in my opinion,is to be able to sustain 2-3 strikes then you need to back away and let your hands cool off or you get your teeth kicked in.
Also closing the distance in this game is hell, which is the reason why most people try to master their parrying in order to be able to be aggresive as there is no other way,but to grapple some times.
Same issue i had with the clinch,it's not that much overpowered,it's over-used,because stand-up in this game is terrible and closing the distance is one of it's biggest issues.People have to rely on Thai Clinch or Parrying to be aggresive or use another stupid method, which is the 3 strike combos that stun your opponent, while every other strike is pretty much meaningless if hit on it's own.Comment

Re: I hate the parry so, so much
The issue with only being able to block 2-3 strikes would be you'd have no block after 3 jabs, etc. Jab jab straight, hook. You're now eating that hook flush. Or any strike thrown after the third shot. Which only caters to the people who spam 1-2s or huge 10+ combosComment

Re: I hate the parry so, so much
To me I just want the parry to slap the hand away and that's it, more so on defense then it's used for now which is pretty much all offense.
I would love some type of hand fighting mechanic to be put in place for UFC 3. That would be cool.Comment

Parry is fine. You miss you can't block. It's fine where it is tbh. Just mix it up and knocked them out.Comment

Re: I hate the parry so, so much
I like the parry the way it was before the patch removed the auto block after attemting a parry. The problem I have had with the parrys in the past were the long aminimation time the fighter would take to complete them, and rapid successive parries in a row. UFC 2 has done a good job on minimizing this.Comment

Re: I hate the parry so, so much
Man parry happens in real mma but they don't the opponent movement... it just happen because mma gloves are really small and guard dont protect to much... parry in this game is equal as a free strike combo pass... and it's really easy to do u dont need to have a perfect timming
hate this * in game too...Comment

Re: I hate the parry so, so much
Parrys should be only for defense. Parrys are HUGE in hand to hand combat, but they don't open up magical counter strike windows where the opponent just stands there waiting for you to hit them...
All a parry should do is deflect a strike.
That's it.PSN: Lord__Hazanko

Re: I hate the parry so, so much
I'm curious. Did I purchase a different game from the rest of you?
Pre-patch or post-patch, I'm pretty consistent with my parrying. I don't really see the parry as a honest parry, but rather as a perfect block. I feel it's skill blocking, and it offers a risk-reward mechanic for blocking. Somebody with no hands can easily block every strike in this game by pressing block with his nose. It is that easy. That is why people come out of the damn corner with hands raised to their face like my wife waiting for the gore to start spilling in a slasher flick.
To my point: I can parry all day long and I don't see this incredible disadvantage that happens to the person who is parried. Every time I parry, without fail, my opponent goes into his "I've just been parried" animation and immediately blocks. The only advantage I see to parries is that I can interrupt a combo and I can stop a strike without turning my arms red and minimal stamina loss. That is it. I'm sorry, but I honestly am not seeing parries leading to unblocked, devastating combos.
What it does lead to is me catching 15 kicks a fight and taking people down. That's about as close as I've ever gotten to griefing in an online video game.Comment

Re: I hate the parry so, so much
Exactly. It shouldn't freeze the opponent in place in order for you to land a free strike.Comment

Re: I hate the parry so, so much
You and I seem to have different definitions of the word "exploit".
Creating a max height-max reach 90 overall with 252 fighter level division 1 toon is an exploit. Parries are in the game for a reason and I am using them properly. That is not an exploit.Comment

Re: I hate the parry so, so much
If you're parrying, and not counter striking, that's on you. No idea why your not.
Yes, you are correct though, all parry should be is a "perfect block" as you say. Unfortunately that's not all it is.. Parrys open up "counter windows" for you to get free unblockable strikes on the opponent.PSN: Lord__Hazanko
