This is the problem right here. You should not be allowed to sit on block. This is a bracing block, and would tire your arms out in the first if you held it like that. I would actually like to see either arm fatigue for sitting on it, or your block dropping automatically after a certain time frame. Only let it stay up if you are taking strikes. Each time it drops, let the time frame for it to come back up be slower and slower. So if someone holds block the whole time, they won't even be able to block later in the match effectively.

Show me a fighter that uses a bracing block the whole match. You will never find one. Even Roy Nelson's block isn't a bracing one. He just holds his hands up differently. He braces for incoming strikes. Not the whole time he has his hands up.

Also, when you sit on block, all you have to do to parry is hit a button to parry. Maybe just adding fatigue and adding the parry timer to the block button could work. Basically, they would have to reset the block to parry.

I am sick of guys parrying my jab and landing significant spinning strikes as a counter.

They just need to make it so when you are bobbing and weaving and someone punches, if they miss it leaves them open for a counter that you must throw.

It shouldnt freeze them in place but you should have a clear advantage and ability to land a strike for dodging youre opponents strike.

As it is now you can dodge a punch and then try and counter but they will just land a spinning kick on you or w/e

Does kind of make me miss THQ's system that only allowed certain strikes within clinch range, but it just feels better to be able to use any strike.

I can see this being hard to implement in the games, and can see how it could be abused as well, but it is a viable tactic in real life
          For sure.

But when you parry your buddies jab, does he just stand there motionless waiting for you to counter with a cross, or hook?

          Didn't think so.

I don't like the animation I prefer undisputed 3 animation, i would just put the shield system from fight night 3 (i guess) when u use block and sit on there getting punched yous block bar is getting lower... and strikes begin to land

also 4 me the perfect parry would be a guy pressing the guard button just b4 the strike land then pressing the button... not just sitting there waiting to press the button... it would be high risky...

I absolutely agree. That's probably one of the few things that I think THQ got right with the striking system. If you're right in front of your opponent and throw a roundhouse. You will trip over your own two feet. That's an update that ea needs to make. Certain strikes need a "Distance Needed" system.

You can parry the counter strike your opponent throws after he parries you

Really? Because I have never been able to do that, ever. At most I could block if the counter was big and slow enough or I backdash out of range. I have never been able to parry back a parry counter and I'm pretty sure it's impossible

maybe its possible just because it started with leg kick parry. in this gif opponent parries my leg kick, throws spinning elbow which i parry then counter

Yeah maybe because it was 1. a kick, 2. a 12-6 elbow. If a jab mine gets parried they pretty much get a free overhand or a 1-2 to the body
