AI is still issue.
I tired the AI on pro in many times today after post patch. The AI's stamina management is a lot better than before but I think it's not enough. because the AI is still very aggressive even if they getting strikes and then get stun but they keep attack me continually. In real life, there are aggressive fighters and non-aggressive fighters in stand up. but In this game, the AI of every fighters are very aggressive more than needs. There is no out-boxer style AI and every fighters keep forward steps and throwing strike over and over. It's so bad. It's different issue from management stamina. So, some fighters AI is far away from realistic. They are very unrealistic. For example, JDS is still throwing way more kicks than punches. He is throwing punches over 90% in real life. He is a boxer. but In this game, He used way more kicks as knee, high kick, back spin kick than jab and straight when the fought with me. It's terrible. Jose Aldo seems like grappler in this game because he attempt way more takedowns than in real life. I really hope that this is NOT final version of the AI improve. Sorry about my poor english. Thanks devs efforts for the AI improve.Tags: None -
Re: AI is still issue.
ya it does still have an issue with stamina when putting a lot of pressure on the AI. To be honest I don't care if fighters fight like themself or not, I just want AI that can hold its own and not crumble under pressure. If they can get this right then fighters not doing the moves they should is not a big deal if the AI is hard atleast. -
Re: AI is still issue.
It seems like it does come forward a bit more but I can't say for sure. It also does manage its stamina better, backing off more often when it is gassed (but not always.)
The AI still cannot provide a challenge though. I'll wait for some people to tell me if Hard is still on par/better than Pro but with stamina (mostly) fixed I doubt it will be. They desperately need to just bite the bullet and give us a 'legend' difficulty where the AI gets straight up stat bonuses.Teams: Minnesota Vikings, Cincinnati Reds, Marshall Thundering Herd, Virginia Tech Hokies (2010 alum)Comment

Re: AI is still issue.
It always moved forward alot. The aggression setting on Pro has always been higher than other difficulties.Comment

Re: AI is still issue.
3 fights on Pro, 3 first round KO's for me. All 3 fights ended with ground and pound after a knockdown. Lol I guess i should just let the cpu stand back up after knocking em down. The cpu has no answer to ground strike in any position it seems.Comment

Re: AI is still issue.
to be fair --- programming the AI for this game has to be extremely difficult
I'm not even sure I could accurately DESCRIBE all the thoughts, instincts, calculations, etc that go into my personal fighting game. Let alone PROGRAM the computer to do so. Let alone program DIFFERENT types of fight styles (I'm a boxer/wrestler at heart; learning some basic kicks, but I'm not Tae Kwon Do artist lol)
So I cut EA some slack in this department lol although hopefully they will continue to improve the AI going into the franchise, as these growing pains can only be deemed acceptable for so longPSN: Boiler569

First fight was conor LW vs nate LW (who tried to body kick me to death)
Second was Wonderboy vs machida
Third was ww conor vs rory i think. Can't remember. I did get stunned in this fight but he was dropped shortly after.
No one can take that left hand LolComment

Re: AI is still issue.
I did (with me listed first)
Bisping Rockhold
Cormier Jones
Dodson Johnson
Wonderboy Lawler
Tate Cyborg
Rutten Jones
The only one that was competitive at all was Cormier Jones where Jones used the reach pretty decently and it took me until the 4th to finish the fight. I was never in much trouble besides once though. Every other fight ended in the first round, and at least two were in the first half of the first round.Teams: Minnesota Vikings, Cincinnati Reds, Marshall Thundering Herd, Virginia Tech Hokies (2010 alum)Comment

Re: AI is still issue.
The good news is that I cant use mid to low rated fighters and dominate on the feet anymore. Before this patch, I could take anyone and use pressure to win on PRO Ai. that doenst seem to be the case anymore.
The bad news is that the AI still doesnt do well against constant pressure and I dont think it ever will in UFC 2. The Pro AI seems to be programmed to throw strikes back if its pressured. The problem is Pro AI doesnt have the striking power to keep fighters off of them or the movement programmed to run away when its facing constant pressure.
The reason I prefer Hard is because they are programmed to be less aggressive and use movement and space more. The problem with Hard is that it isnt as good defensively as pro is when it comes to blocking and parrying.
Now most UFC fighters dont use constant pressure in real life so using it in the game is unrealistic. But there is a good group of fighters who do (Cormier, the Diazs) and I shouldnt be forced to fight unrealistically with them because the AI cant handle it.Comment

Re: AI is still issue.
Thanks. I see why we are getting drastically different results. You are using Conor and Wonderboy who are two of the best strikers in the game and I was using the new fighters who are mid tier guys at best.

Re: AI is still issue.
Leo Santos v. Nate Diaz - GNP win for Diaz in round 2.
Stipe Miocic v. JDS - JDS win by decision.
Two things: I dont constantly pressure the AI (I give them opportunities get their stamina back) and I dont hug high block. I take my finger off of high block and only use it when reacting not as a habit.Comment

Re: AI is still issue.
I guess I'll post my thoughts here to...
I actually like the AI on pro now, sure it's not perfect but i like how aggressive they are now and how they move foward a lot more. Also when I turned off the HUD it felt better.
Now I'm not saying the AI is perfect because it's not and does need a lot of work, but for right now it's not to bad and i atleast am losing a few fights.
Last night I did Larkin vs Magny at WW best out of 3 and lost 2 fights. Then my other 2 fights I just use regular mid level fighters Pat cumming vs lil Nog - Michael Johnson vs Pettis and had a good time. Now one thing the AI does a lot now on pro is clinch and i kind of like that.
since the patch it has made the AI atleast playable for me on pro, now if they can just get rid of the few times the AI gasses themself and try's to strike we might have decent stuff.Comment
