Fo' real guys I hardly can imagine a better final than it actually was. Good fighting on both sides from u guys! And congratulations to afroo from a real afro for the win !
For sure man especially the final matchup --- some high quality fighting w/ pretty much no cheese, good stuff! Hopefully a few people randomly saw that on fight pass and will pick up the game

(Although I still think EA really needed to advertise the semifinals/finals *in-game* even if it was just a quick screenshot --- missed marketing opportunity )

That video intro was awesome, would have been great if that had been imported in-game somehow

Well, there were about 1k viewers on twitch at the peak, and i'm sure several thousand more on youtube and fight pass combined --- but probably could have doubled those numbers with a small in-game advertising campaign the week leading up to it. Oh well, still was a fun event for sure, thanks for putting it together EA that type of stuff helps build-up the community

and as you may know, we really need help in this community LOL

For the last one, one of our guys have started something and I don't know the details, so I'll stay out of that one for now.

As for the first, it's still not certain we will do something. Will be discussing on Monday.

But we've investigated and understand what's happening and why.

There are multiple levels on hit reactions. For the lower level ones, you can block while in the hit reaction.

There's one level right before a KD happens where the animation is bigger, and you can't block.

That was an intentional design choice.

However, the hit reactions to the head and body take you out of range and hide your head.

      The leg ones don't.

And that's where the problem lies.

So the fact that the system was designed to disable blocks never raised red flags in early play testing because it never really mattered.

Until the leg kick ones started getting used a lot online.

      Options to fix it:

-allow blocking during all leg kick hit reactions
-allow blocking during all hit reactions
-disable the highest level of leg hit reaction
-change the leg hit reaction to take you out of range

I think 1 or 2 are the most likely fixes for us to go with, if we choose to change it.
If you do make any changes, use the 1st one. It will be realistic if the combos ends with a leg kick even if blocked....instead of an unrealistic strike to finish the combo.
      Lineup:
      PG) Gary Payton
      SG) '95-'96 Michael Jordan
      SF) Sapphire Scottie Pippen
      PF) '95-'96 Dennis Rodman
      C) Hakeem Olajuwon

What was the difference between Aldo and Edgar, is it like a reach thing or something? I thought in lec competition fighters had identical ratings.

Re: Official Live Event Competition Thread

Stats were the same; I'm also *pretty* sure each fighter kept their default move set...but all moves are 2-star in LEC (anyone confirm?)

Def. felt like Aldo was longer than Edgar --- both in real life and in-game haha --- but actually Edgar has slightly longer reach. Maybe b/c Aldo uses kicks and range much better

but i think Aldo won all 3 LEC fights right? That could definitely be by chance, but not the greatest odds of all time

(1 out of 8 chance it would 'randomly' have Aldo winning all 3 fights...pretty low really but not out of realm of possibility)

Anyone remember if Aldo was red corner each fight?? I could go look I guess lol

In the Fight Night Round 4 Tournament in Vegas; all but *1* fighter who was in the red (left) corner, won. Everyone else out of a 16 man tournament lost when fighting in the right corner. However, a big difference was that you could never end up on the 'other side' of the screen in fight night --- unlike UFC 2 where you can start on left hand side, and end up on right hand side during a scramble/etc.

Plus no matter what, online you were always the left corner, never the right corner. So people didn't really get the chance to practice from that side of the screen.

Yes, all moves were 2 star in LEC and fighters kept their existing movesets.
