Re: Watch This: 13 (FAILED) Submission Attempts in ONE ROUND -- NO STAMINA DRAIN??
Once again, I really wish they had just implemented the EA MMA sub system and make the correct adjustments for stamina as well. Since having a SINGLE sub attempt actually lasting 30 - 60 seconds (or longer) is impossible with this sub system, the stamina drain isn't consistent with the sub battles either.
If the old sub system was implemented, you could try working for a sub that isn't in tight hoping that you can actually find that "sweet spot", but at the risk of draining your stamina.
It should be less linear and more of the feeling out process and battle like the old EA MMA sub system was.
I loved those long, strenuous, stressful sub battles in EA MMA.
(well I didn't like the joint submission mini-game lol....but in terms of how the battle could last for 30-60 seconds; and wasn't linear; that was GREAT)PSN: Boiler569

Re: Watch This: 13 (FAILED) Submission Attempts in ONE ROUND -- NO STAMINA DRAIN??
well first off there'd only be time in a round for a few of those long sub battles so there'd be no 13 attempts
But more importantly (in a perfect world) after a 60 second battle...if you don't tap...both fighters will be pretty damn gassed out and it'd be easy to deny a subsequent attempt. Of the same type of sub, at least.
So if someone gasses their arm trying to choke you....and you escape after a long battle....it'll be very hard for them to choke you again in the near future.
But their LEGS would still be fresh, so a submission that uses leg power a lot, might still have a great chance to get you. But that's a different sub and probably requires you to change position.
I also think it'd be legit if the attacker could release the sub when they want --- so if they know they won't get it, they can release so they don't burn out/lose position/etc
Lots of potential in the sub game. Hopefully we can look into Transition Based Subs tooinstead of mini-game....that's a whole other can of worms though

Agreed. However, this sub game likely isn't going to change much, if at all. No reason not to discuss what we think would be best for next time though.@bikingforjesus on InstagramComment

Not so fast...the stamina tax from a failed sub lasting that long would make the following sub animation extremely slow and easy to counter. Plus if we're going off the old system, the radius you can cover to successfully pull out a submission would decrease making it easier to escape if done consecutively.Comment
