Re: New Patch? New Problems NEEDS FIXING
Striking is just not done right in this game period. Hit stun not done right, hit reactions too over the top, lack of hit stun on certain strikes, ect. Obviously the dev in charge of this area is lost. The grappling system is amazing, but the striking definitely isn't up to par. What you have with this games striking is pretty much an arcade brawler, where combos, throwing a bunch of strikes and brawling reigns supreme. That's what the striking in this game caters to. It doesn't cater to realistic play because of the brawly nature of the striking, which allows players to spam through most strikes unless they are modified strikes, head kicks, used at the end of a combo or your fighter has some perk that enhances the strike. Games still a brawler at heart just like last game.
On another note, we should always keep in mind that the game isnt developed strictly for hardcore technical fans of the sport. EA is trying to sell a game to a wide spectrum of fans. Included in that spectrum are fans that just want to brawl and want a game that allows them to do that.
I try to not get too worked up about the striking at this point. Its obvious from all of the tweets and some of the hints that the devs have dropped that striking will be changed if there is a next game. They are aware of the complaints but nothing is likely to get changed for UFC 2.Last edited by aholbert32; 08-31-2016, 12:30 PM.Comment

FYI, you can make your point (which is a valid one) without directly insulting a dev who may or may not be a member of this forum. Using insults will do nothing but get you banned. Dont want to see a good member banned over something stupid like that.

Re: New Patch? New Problems NEEDS FIXING
Nothing official. The only thing we have to go on is that according to some of the devs twitter accounts they are mocapping striking. Those new animations havent shown up in UFC 2 so we can only assume that this work is being done for a future game.Comment

And a Dev posting on this very forum that those animations could very well be for an upcoming figure skating game.Comment

Re: New Patch? New Problems NEEDS FIXING
Its not.
There are a ton of similarities between top level MMA and world class figure skating. Its possible that EA would bring in a Glory Kickboxing world champ and a Black Belt BJJ competitor in to mo cap a figure skating game.
Its also possible that I will be on the cover of the next UFC game.Comment

Re: New Patch? New Problems NEEDS FIXING
Could be the way for a hockey game, plenty of striking mocap would be needed for that one- plus Canada lol
Either which way I hope we can we can move our feet in the next game like some hockey players or some figure skaters-some gliding fleet footwork & shifting switchesComment

Re: New Patch? New Problems NEEDS FIXING
Did I used to post like Kenetic does now on EA UFC 1?
Trying to be the best at a game with no real competitive scene is a quick way to becoming very pretentious.
Let me make a point about the actual intended contents of the thread.
Has there been an EA fighting sim with balanced steps? I didn't play too much of the Fight Night games before Champion, but I do remember the steps being too strong on EA UFC 1 and Fight Night Champion(I didn't play all versions of FNC, though).
Also, keep in mind that Martialmind has a very different outlook on the game. He's more focused on realism > balance. There's no reason to attack his opinion using "i'm the best bro and I know that this isn't balanced".
For example, he still thinks parries are too strong. He's not wrong, necessarily, because maybe they're too strong in relation to real life parries. Game balance wise they might not be strong enough. You have to think about each poster's point of view.
Are you ever gonna give me and Zhunter the money back you stole from us?Comment

Re: New Patch? New Problems NEEDS FIXING
I can't remember if UFC 2 was confirmed yet or not with the previous game.
Seems a bit odd nothing has been confirmed, either that or you are purposely playing possum? I can understand not being able to talk about it but man, figure skating? Dont make me sad.PSNID: B_A_N_EComment
