Lag makes this game literally unplayable at on a competitive level

Am I the only one? I'm on PS4 and play mostly UT. My internet is fast and I have no lag on any other games.

I was a top player on all Undisputed series and desperately want to play this game competitively. This has been a problem all along but is now so bad I haven't touched the game in months. Div 6 UT matches are ALWAYS lagged horribly. Game is literally unplayable. I KO/get KO'd regularly from strikes that make noise but aren't even animated...

THANKS FOR RUINING A GREAT FRANCHISE EA, get it together.

I assume no one plays this game anymore because of this. The whole pay $1.99 for 2 amazing card packs paints a clear picture. EA is trying to squeeze the last little bit of revenue out of this sinking ship. I wouldn't be surprised to see them shutdown these servers before the next game even comes out.

Lag can get really really bad indeed. We absolutely need dedicated servers for the next game, also 60fps since 30fps already introduces a small amount of lag even on the best connections

Haha, I know. Just rage trolling. Infuriating to see this game's potential and get almost no enjoyment out of it. It appears that some people don't experience this level of lag. This makes me even angrier because a vocal minority is typically ignored.

Re: Lag makes this game literally unplayable at on a competitive level

80%+ of my online fights are lag free, or close enough to be considered so.

10% are --- laggy; but bearable

10% suck --- that said, MOST of these lagfests occur when I fight someone internationally (you can usually tell when it's European/Russian/Brazil lol)

On one hand I feel your pain.

On the other hand --- HOW OLD ARE YOU??? --- you must not have played online games in the late 90s or early 2000s --- you kids these days, don't realize the pain of a 14.4 kbps dial-up modem.

Don't be such a complainer, we're lucky we have the damn internet, we could have been born in the 1300s, now wouldn't that have sucked ***???

Re: Lag makes this game literally unplayable at on a competitive level

Easy to have that perspective if the game is playable to you 80% of the time.

I get noticeable lag 100% of the time, and I'd say 50% of the time it's bad enough that the game is unplayable.

I'd be annoyed as a casual gamer. As a previously top player in the world in other UFC games, it's way more than annoying. It removes me entirely from contention, where it doesn't seem to have that affect on other top players.

Wtf are you talking about 1300's for? You can apply that logic to basically any argument. I played games online thru the 90's. I'm used to adjusting my timing for lag.

No timing adjustments help here. Input is often MISSED, not delayed. Parries are impossible, denials only work preemptively, my fighter just bobs up and down when I try for TD's, strikes make noise and land but aren't even animated, submission are escaped/completed entirely mismatched from the interface.

                Where do you live?

Do you hardwire your console? Rather than wi-fi?

Have you adjusted your TV settings to reduce lag as much as possible? That can make a big difference.

I have a MW championship fight this week in one of my leagues; defending my belt against a tough fighter from Europe, I'm definitely worried that lag will bring me down but it is what it is I suppose

Lags are not caused by internet speed (3-4mb/s is enough), they are caused by pockets losses
Slow mo is caused by slow ping
                  Test your pockets losses.

I appreciate the advice. I've tried everything but buying a new PS4. Who knows, maybe that's the problem, even though it's newish and I don't have problems with other games. This game seems so slow and laggy to me all the time, including offline/menus. I regularly mess up my menu selection by hitting buttons too quickly.

I live in a large city, and the backbone of the internet comes right through it. I am hardwired, I've run ping/packet loss tests, I've got a new TV that's got minimal input lag in game mode, I've replaced my modem, I've had my ISP out multiple times troubleshooting. Heh, I was very committed to playing this game at the highest level. I've had to face the fact, it simply isn't going to happen.

As far as playing guys overseas, forget about it. This is somewhat expected though.

I've noticed a lot more lag since the final patch. I dunno if its because of the smaller player pool and I'm facing a lot more overseas guys over and over, but its gotten pretty bad.

And I usually run 40-60 meg DL and 10 UL. My internet is more than fine. This game is the only one with lag problems for mem

That's something that is ruining the game for all of us.

If anything, EA UFC 3 needs to focus on improving their stand-up by completely rebuilding it from the ground up, but if the lag/delay/matchmaking issues are not addressed, no matter how much work they put on all of those aspects, i don't believe it will show and the game will die quickly if the same connectivity issues insist.

Which is another reason, why they should actually make sure they get the offline right and make it enjoyable, since online has plenty of connectivity issues and i doubt something can be done at this point by what the GameplayDevUFC has stated on how the game works on almost no netcode compensation.

I literally play through my cell phone hotspot about 50% of the time, and still get hardly any lag.

                          I don't know what your issue is, but I don't think it's UFC 2.

May i ask where do you currently live and play from Haz?

Your location compared to your opponent's location is what matters in having less lag/delay.

If you live somewhere in Western Europe: England/France/Germany, you are one lucky guy. You can connect to players from Eastern Europe/Russia and also connect to the US. You are in the middle and most people with access to a ps4 live in that area.
