You were "hating on this game for awhile"? Why?

I'll grab it when it's on sale. Looks interesting. I also play For Honor and Tekken quite a bit, so I had to show a little love in here.

Is it really a knock-off when it's better than the original though?

Judged it based on appearance and not by playing it.

Had a lot of fun with it, think I managed to be top 5 at one point, lots of UFC skills transfered over. Game is pretty dead though so I haven’t played in awhile.

Not good to hear if the community is dead. I think the game would've done better at like $20. Like I said, it looks interesting, but it definitely has a budget title quality to it.

And you all will stop your For Honor slander lol. Ubi has blessed me with several multiplayer titles this gen that I absolutely love.

It's way better than the EA UFC games in almost every way so I don't see how it has a "budget title quality to it".

You clearly have a lot of love for the game -- I haven't played it. By budget title I mean purely from a visual point of view. Before I bothered reading up on the game, my initial impressions came from from pictures. Those screenshots gave me a knockoff For Honor feeling, and I'm not alone on that. I'll admit it looks pretty good in motion, though.

I heard nothing about this game until I stumbled across it in the PSN store one day. I don't know how much press it got coming out, but $30 for an indie game that can compared to another popular title, can be a hard sell. If the online really is dying that can't help either.

When it drops to $15 or so, I'll grab it and give it a shot. I love combat, so I'm interested to see for myself if it's praiseworthy. If it's what you guys say it is, maybe a price drop and word of mouth will give it a boost of players.

Ah, gotcha. I see where you're coming from. Gameplay wise though, it is pretty good. I agree with what you're saying when it comes to the visuals, but they didn't have a big budget so it's to be expected.

That one looks like an HD version of old Mortal Kombat games. Those stop motion animations with few frames. I'm hoping the game is ironic.

I wouldn't say it resembles UFC, because it's 2D. If you wanna check out a very creative 2D game, I recommend Skullgirls. Seriously... their creativity is OP. 2D is not my cup of tea, but I still bought it in a super sale and checked it out. Certainly had some fun some laughs.

And back to Absolver... there have been like 3 patches sinc I stopped playing. Maybe teh fixed the connectivity for PS4. I still haven't checked. The game died to me a while ago, simply because the connectivity became atrocious. It was a big shame, because their gameplay design is briliant. I'm glad Kenetic came here to back me up. I guess I was sounding like a madman in making the comparison with UFC. The resemblence isn't obvious. It's very abstract.

That Wutang game looks pretty cool, definitely well done for such a small project, but without online play I'm not interested. Absolver is dead, at least on PC. 172 players in the last 24 hours down from a peak of 18,921. It's a shame the game started out so popular and the devs let it die on the vine. They patched it, but it was too little too late, and their initial server issues caused the game to be totally unplayable online for 12 hour stretches almost every day.

Skullgirls was fun and had a little run in the tournament scene but I believe is also dead.

Injustice 2, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, and Tekken 7 seem to be the main fighting games people are playing today.

Luckily, beta for UFC3 is coming so we won't have to resort to "poor man" games much longer.

Holy crap that looks amazing! It's more like a Rich Man's EA UFC rather than "poor man's" but of course, the comparison shouldn't be made in the first place.
