        Try a few other combinations...

Square, then Triangle + Circle, then X, then Triangle.

        how about

Circle, then Square + X, then Triangle, then Triangle + Circle, then Square.

Dude. These feel HORRIBLE........ Insanely unintuitive. This **** is melting my brain already. Trying to fight fluidly is gonna be impossible. Seriously guys, pick up your controller, and try a few of these. You don't realize just how horribly awkward it is till you really try it. As an exercise, Imagine double presses as a hook or uppercut; Then think up a combination, then try to throw it. Watch your brain instantly melt. These controls are not good.

I really need to see some footage or something, cuz this has me terrified right now. I think this may have been a bad bad bad idea.
        A) You're either grossly underestimating your ability to learn something new, or B, the idea of change is so terrifying you can't possibly imagine how you'd get it.

My guess is B, and if that's the case, that initial "Woah" and gut feeling that the world is ending will fade away once you realize that it's not "Impossible" as you claim and all it requires is a bit of time to unlearn past habits and get used to this scheme.

If you have FNC.... go practice combinations with double button presses. You're gonna need it.

Also, you're over thinking this thing. You genuinely have NO solid idea what the controls for most things in the game are... What GPD gave you is just an idea of what a part of the controls will involve.... not the whole story, so try not to make assumptions that end up terrifying you for no reason.

You said you'd reserve Judgement until you know more..... Do that sir or you'll keep coming up with the worst possible scenarios in your head.... like Takedowns are now all face buttons pressed at the same time or something.

This is the problem with any kind of hint. Some will always take it to places that the original poster never intended for them to go. Dont get me wrong though ...that is completely fair and understandable.

Its just that some of the assumptions here arent correct.

I was completely against the NEW blocking buttons in EA UFC 2, it was weird and confusing for about 1-2 weeks then I got used to it. Learning a new button system for a new game iz normal guys.

Thanks for the inside GDP. Appreciate it.

PS4 has always been lead i think. Xbox has it's advantages though...like EA access.

It looks like the old ea ufc 2 model tho.

Yh thats her in UFC 2. She doesn't look bad imo, but guess she doesn't like the look. It is the old her from like 2013. Guess she didn't get scanned?

I actually don’t think it looks that far off from when she has her hair pulled back in real life.

I don't feel it looks bad either. And these models arent really at their best when they are not moving. I feel they look much better when they are.

Cat hasn't been very active lately it seems. I think they do the scans at those UFC fighter summit where everyone usually attends to.

Anyway she probably doesn't even play the game. Who cares. I'd be more annoyed if my stats or fighting style didnt even match me.

Then again I've been through many console generations and I'll never understand the complaints, its amazing we've hit this level of graphic detail to begin with.

In Fight Night Champion I can throw a jab standing still, but if I wanted more power to my jab I can move toward my opponent and press Jab it becomes a Lunging Jab. From there I can follow up and do anything i want afterwards, jab again, use head movement, sidestep, follow with a hook, uppercut, go to the body.

If I pressed hook standing still it would be a regular hook, but do the same thing walking toward and it becomes a Lunging hook.

UFC Undisputed actually had some strikes like this, such as a stationary leg kick, a coming forward leg kick, a dash leg kick, and running leg kicks.

Stationary teep kick, running teep kick, dashing teep kick, which all had different levels of power, and different animations.
UFC 2 has all those lunging strikes also.

You just need to learn the timing.

I outlined many of them here:

                          ---------

Now about the double input presses.
                          I'm not exaggerating.
                          They ARE awkward.

Like I said, actually pick up your controller, think of a combo you would throw, then try to execute it with double presses acting in place of hooks and uppercuts. Bro, it will seriously melt your brain. Practice this a few times. It is seriously extremely hard.

I don't have FNC anymore, so I can't play it for practice. I'm totally cool with change, and am extremely excited for new striking physics/mechanics, but these controls feel rough.

Like I said tho, I need more info before making final judgements because that GIF doesn't tell us much.

All i'm saying, is practicing thinking up combos, and then throwing them with double presses legit melts your brain. That **** is not easy at all. I can't imagine trying to be in the moment, and having full control of what i'm doing, with intent in what i'm throwing. I feel like people are just gonna be mashing buttons more than ever before, due to a lack of intuitive controls.

Its not extremely hard but it does take practice and isnt as intuitive as a one button press. It took me a while for the strikes that require double button presses to feel natural. With that said by the third day of playing I didnt have an issue with it.

Also if people mash buttons because they arent willing to learn and use the new controls, they will get destroyed by someone who knows how to use them. Button mashing is not a viable way to be successful in the new game.
