EA UFC 3 Universe

Since I have no hope/expectations that there will be a Universe mode in the upcoming game, I created this thread so us universe guys can share fight cards and other stuff.

Like most of you I use the spreadsheet created by jeremym480, which can be found somewhere here:

I'm finalizing my first two cards right now:


I try not to use fighters who are no longer under UFC contract or fighters who are suspended by USADA. That said, Light Heavyweight & Heavyweight have become really shallow, so I hope we will see a lot of roster additions in those divisions.

Anybody else planning on creating their own universe with the next game?

I really like the idea of this but have literally only recently heard about it so don’t know much. How do I go about creating my own one? Do I just set them up through spreadsheets, then play the games out in event mode?

Yep. This is the way I've done it since UFC Undisputed 1.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who does this.

Maybe it's my Autism but I've always had an obsession with stats and numbers so AI simulation is my ****. UFC games, WWE games, NBA, Even GTA using the editor. I've set up matches with on COD to see if the bots use tactics and teamwork (surprise: sometimes they do seem aware of each other) and don't get me started on Arma.

This is just an example of how our sheet looks for the WWE2k18 league my friends and I run on our Youtube Channel. Definitely gonna have a similar set up for UFC where I try and get some stats on the different AI this way.



And here's what the actual fight cards look like when we put them together. I hope I'm not getting way off topic. I saw OP post his sheet templates and figured maybe I could help someone come up with ideas on how to set theirs up.

I'm excited to do my own universe but have to wait until the roster comes out. You have Saparbek Safarov on yours but I think he's unlikely to being the game, he's 0-1. Also have heard Darren Till wasn't in the game recently, of course that could change. I think it's definitely too early to be making cards.

They could be planned CAFs. Ive seen what will likely be the roster and there are several fighters I know wont be in the game at launch and wont likely be DLC on my chart.

I did this in UD3 and UFC 1. Tried in 2 but the AI couldn’t win so it got old quick. I plan on doing it in 3 as long as the AI improves some from the beta or sliders work well enough to balance fights.

I tried to go really complex with my UFC1 spreadsheet but honestly after messing around with it more than playing the game I decided to simplify it a lot and just do things manually. I had a tab for each division with the fighters names in one column and each other column being a fight, so if Rob Lawler had won his last two and lost the one before that it would read:

“Lawler. L Diaz. W Cerrone. W Alvarez.”

I wouldn’t be able to see how long ago those fights were but I could easily see streaks. Championship fight were colored gold. I suppose this time I will make wins green and losses red to make steaks pop out even more. It also had rankings that I would manually update after each card.

Also each event had its own tab, with a list of the fights, the fighter I controlled underlined and the winner bolded. I also put the round and method (and scores if applicable) next to the fights.

Finally I had a Champions tab, where I kept a list of the champs and how long it had been since they defended, along with a championship history of who held the belt and how long. This was an extra thing I added later so I didn’t accidentally have Champions go dormant for too long.

Besides Cyborg and Holm will we have any other women 145 pounder in the game?

I was hoping I could play as Megan Anderson for immersion purposes

I cant confirm any fighters but I doubt we will have any low profile fighters who havent fought in the UFC yet in the launch version of the game.

are we certain universe mode wont be in the game. i hate that online is like everything developers focus on now. i personally hate online play and would rather have an in depth single player mode like universe or gm mode

99.9% certain. That would be an insane thing for us to not have even gotten a clue about.

But really, the pen and paper (or excel as the case may be) versions work just fine. Maybe even better.

Getting really curious about the new roster though, from the UFC 2 Heavyweight division there are less than 15 fighters still under UFC contract.

I'd also like to know if we're getting any (minor) changes to event mode, or is it exactly the same as UFC 2?

edit: Only noticed just now that 8 fighters from the top 15 have lost their last fight

Yeah HW is rough in real life for the UFC. Ngannou/Stipe is probably the best HW title fight we’ve had in a really long time though so there’s that.

Can't wait for the roster reveal so I can properly plan my Universe mode. By far the thing I'm looking forward to the most upon release.
