    Re: All official multiplayer modes

I guess nba2k has a much bigger base? But the matches r much longer and there are about 20
Different online modes and you never have trouble finding matches even at 5 am and I play all the modes. Maybe if there were more online modes we would have more of a online player base for all the modes ??

add a daily tournament mode like fifa. It would be a great solution.

Please, do not knockout mode or other only striking mode online. This is the mma game and grapling must be part of it. Many people want go only striking and this is ok, they must defend takedowns and be carefully to not land on the floor. But if only striking will be online, they go there and amount of players in ranked will drop down.

Ps. I do not like grapling. I prefer striking in most of my fights.

I 100% agreed. It will kills major modes. but I think, it would be fine that available only PSN friends.

            Re: All official multiplayer modes

At the VERY least these should be playable through play-a-friend. There is zero excuse for it not to be so. Especially if they went all-in to record seperate commentary tracks for this. Makes it just a complete shame to limit people in their options.

And if I was working on Ultimate Team, a mode that ultimately is going to turn into a stale grind for coins to buy packs. I would love to have these modes involved in UT in some way.

Again, they could do striking only timed events, CAF only, up to a certain rating so that it doesnt get incredibly cheesy. See I dont like the changes I've seen in Ultimate Team, the perks changes were clever and I think its going to work. The rest of it? Doesn't do anything for me.

But if they can supply the mode with content like this, and have that tournament mode working in there in some way? People will want to play that. Keeping it a timed event will also in no way get in the way of matchmaking numbers. Especially not during the weekend.

Unless this Ultimate Team reveal has something incredibly surprising, I've seen nothing that would make me want to play it. And I am not the only one there, but this would. Absolutely.

I wonder if the lack of game modes is a way to get people to play UT and spend money...

I will never play UT regardless and I think there's plenty in the same boat.

It's just sad because it'd make the game a lot more fun and it's not a lot to ask for.

As far as people complaining... There are obviously people that are just here to spew negativity and hate about the game. That stuff should be ignored. Valid criticism from people who want the game to be better shouldn't though.

We're the consumers. I do not understand the anti-consumer mentality at all. We are paying for the game. We're not being given it for free. If the game is lacking in areas... It's in our best interest to say so.

It's a great game and I will be buying it but that doesn't make this okay. Other games have a much bigger variety of game modes. I don't see why this can't be done in 2018 after 3 games have been developed.

A MUCH bigger online base. # of modes has no effect on the number of online players imo. The fact is the Basketball is a much more popular sport than MMA and more people buy that game by 4 to 1.

Nah, it has nothing to do with that. What kills me is people on the pro put these modes online side are being given an answer (splitting the player base) and are arguing the reason is false even though we have multiple people in this thread stating that they dont want the modes online for that very reason.

Its not just this thread. I've seen it as a concern in multiple threads on OS and EA Forums and on Reddit.

Here is the thing: Once you add them online, there is no turning back. You cant remove the modes if you discover that its harder for people to find matches after the fact. There are threads on OS where people were complaining about the difficult with finding a fight with UFC 2. That didnt change until the price dropped and more people bought the game. So this is a legitimate risk.

With that said, they should add tournament mode or friend only modes couldn't be added.

Having these modes as a option for online unranked create a mode is NOT going to split the player base.

This literally just creates a avenue for people who ALREADY play unranked and offline way more options to play.

People who play ranked, will play these modes yes, but 90% of the time they will be playing ranked.

The argument of splitting the player base is not accurate and i would argue it actually LOWERS the player base due to lack of game play options.

UFC 2 has been out how long now? I have never once had a problem finding a fight.

I have no dog in this fight. I rarely play online. I'm happy either way

With that said, the risk is actually in adding these modes. I have not seen a single person in this thread or online say "If Stand and Bang or Submission mode isnt online, I'm not buying the game". In fact, I've heard the opposite. Most of you are acknowledging that you will still buy the game.

Here is the flip side: For argument's sake, lets say that you are wrong. Lets say that adding these modes does split the user base and its harder for people to find fights. EA cant say they werent warned because multiple people actually warned against that (some directly to the devs).

You now have an online community who is pissed because they are forced to play the same players over and over again and/or arent able to consistently find fights. It makes it less likely that those people will buy a future version of EA UFC. It also makes it less likely that an online person interested in the game would buy it if they hear that its difficult to find fights.

Dont get me wrong. If people want these modes online, they should continue to post, tweet and complain about it. I'm just saying it isnt as easy of a decision as people are stating.

I think a lot of people complaining about the player base being split are just parroting stuff. If you had such trouble finding a game with thousands online... It's probably not the game that is the problem. If you had a bit of trouble finding games in ranked because you played a ton early and got to a high division... that's a bit different.

But yeah, as you said with the bolded... that should happen at the very least. It'd also be a good test to see how much that effects the player base being split (which I'm confident won't change much).

I don't think that you should HAVE to match up with people at your skill level in quick fight either. There should maybe be a bias towards it but that's why you have ranked (to find people at your skill level). That plays it's part in games being hard to find as well.

With that said, I never had trouble finding games.

Well no ****, considering there were no other modes but unranked, ranked and UT, no wonder you didn't. But adding stand and bang mode, KO mode, event mode, tournament mode and ground mode to them (forgot the name), certainly will divide the community even if a larger (but certainly not that much bigger) player base happens to get the game.

Have you all forgotten how simply adding Pride mode to the Undisputed franchise divided the player base?

It's not BS, it's simple gaddamn logic. The more online modes there are, the more the player base will be divided. It's as simple as that. How much of a impact it will have, we don't know, but there will certainly be one.

Might be ranked will still be as popular, but what happens to quick match when or if all of those new modes are added will definitely have a impact. Be pissed about it because you want them, but don't go and **** on simple logic because you want to try and make your argument better.

Adding one or two modes will not destroy the player base when there is thousands of people playing the game. That is very simple logic that shouldn't need to be explained or argued about. They can start with one to cater to the concerns. It's not like they have to add 10 off the bat.

Stand and bang mode having too much influence on searching for matches is at least reasonable (with that said... imo I still don't think it'd be a problem at this point). Tournament mode certainly wouldn't divide the player base too much. It would end up being a fun mode that is played far less than quick match. This is a common thing among fighting games.

they should at least have these modes online for certain weekends just to change it up. UT it would work really good for instance:

                              Normal tournament mode
Max requirements for STU: 70 GRP:70 STM: 70 Health: 70
(they can be different for different events, some may have no requirements)
Rewards: premenium pack and 2500 coins

                              Stand and bang tournament mode
Max requirements for STU: 85 Stm: 70
Rewards: premenium striking pack and 2500 coins

                              Submisson showdown tournament mode
Max requirements: Grp: 80 Stm: 70
Rewards: premenium ground pack and 2500 coins

They need to do something for this every so often maybe every weekend or every other weekend. Come on EA!
