Because the animations weren't designed for it. It might look a little off.

I was just thinking about striking speed, not movement speed. You're probably right.

Yeah that would be great, plus having it as a option in the unranked modes too. Split or no split, the difference would be no deal breaker for sure. If there is that much of a split, might as well put it on by default in a patch I say.

If it's forced, no thanks. There's no incentive to turn the meters off at the highest level of play. The meters give the most accurate info to both players to make the best decision possible. On top of that, how can you make this viewership friendly if only half the meters are displayed. A big part of the drama that surrounds the fighting game competitive scene are those meters being displayed. Now if it's a personal option, and there's an xp bonus for winning ranked matches with it off, I'm down.

they need to test it on unranked quick match, if it recieves good feedback make it for ranked play and UT.

The incentivie is that you need to think for yourself instead of relying on the most accurate info to make the least mistakes and best decisions. If it were to be made default when entering div 6, I'm pretty gaddamn sure you'd have a good idea of how to play the game by now. Hell imo, I'd be down to make it the default stamina at div 5.

Competitivness should mean that both sides are on equal grounds in information given from the get go, so whether both players have their opponent's meters hidden or not, it's on the same basis. Except one you have to think for yourself and be more concsious of what you're doing instead of basing your tactics on bars telling you what to go for.

That's what I've been saying in the last pages or so, hell even having it as rivalry mode only could give us a good idea of feedback.

It'd be fun to play against devs and see what their approach without the opponent's bars are, and their personal opinions on it during fights.

It's neither necessary nor realistic. What more do you need?

Which is the problem. You get information on your opponent that you would not have access to in real life.

I guess real life MMA isn't exciting at all since no meters are displayed..

A big part of the drama that surrounds the fighting game competitive scene are those meters being displayed.
                          Yeah, no.

Excitement and drama comes from uncertainty in results, overcoming the odds & coming back from almost getting finished, a display of skill much higher than that of the viewer and a bunch of other factors that do not rely on meters at all.

I didn't state it was. It's clear your stance is set and anyone with a difference of opinion seems to be attacked with the brute forcing of your ideals. Options are better for players.
