Re: GPD's official response to Finish the Fight discussion
Don't think it's a hardware issue at all, rather a budget issue. There is a ton more mocap being done for this than UD3 after all I'd bet.Comment

Re: GPD's official response to Finish the Fight discussion
Are there gonna be any knockouts where the guy stiffens up and drops? if thats the case I can understand why you can't continue to beat on them but if the fighter just rag dolls and falls you should be able to follow up with 1-2 punches just to make sure there out! I also think the camera should stay where it is after a ko just for a half second more the fight seems to end abruptlyComment

Re: GPD's official response to Finish the Fight discussion
I really wonder how much money would it cost to make a ref run in a push the fighter away?like seriously?even without ref interaction I still want to get hits off after a ko just stop it after like 3 or 4 hits c'mon @gpd if this and ragdolls not back to normal id suggest you get ready for a battlefront 2 style boycottComment

And it's also about priority. As much as this is a cool feature, implementing it to the standard of quality of the animations in the game would have taken soome important features from actual gameplay.
We all want it and hope it will come sooner than later. It's still good to put it in perspective, though.Comment

It's largely about the quality of it. Making it at the level of UD3 would not be an option, as it would stand out as looking robotic in comparison to the rest of the game. Keep in mind those UD knockdowns were fully animated (no ragdoll). That makes things much easier, I suppose.

The new striking developed for UFC 3 might be one of the best striking systems I've seen in a MMA game, all we need now is clinch and ground worked on to be as smooth, fluid and 'chunky' as the stand up and this game series could seriously be "that" game everybody talks about years from now.Comment

Re: GPD's official response to Finish the Fight discussion
I guess i'm just bringing it up because it's an interesting conversation point but do you (and anybody else really) feel UFC 4 will revamp the clinch and ground again to pair with the new striking to make an entire new game overall?

Re: GPD's official response to Finish the Fight discussion
So I know you are not a Dev, and may not have any idea about this at all, but this statement sorta gave me a little more hope than it should have. Do you think something like this is possible via patches or free DLC packs? I hadn't even considered it being done in UFC 3 post launch, just kinda felt disappointed I'd have to wait 2 more years before it might be a feature.Comment

Re: GPD's official response to Finish the Fight discussion
Indeed I have no idea.
I wouldn't hold my breath for TBS to happen in a patch, though. I think it'd be a huge feature.
I remember the mourning process of when we were told UFC 3 would focus on the stand up to the point where they couldn't dev TBS. It was so sad. But I ended up agreeing with it.Comment

I hope they'll revamp GnP in the next game too. I think Undisputed did it better. I don't really like having a posture up transition between it, makes you feel disconnected IMO. That's why I liked the Undisputed approach so much.Comment

I've yet to meet the first person that enjoys the clinch, says enough tbh.

I have cravings for GnP changes, too, but mostly visual, TBH.Comment

So if the memory ends up not being an issue (not sure if it is), they could work on this early post launch, create the feature and patch it into UFC 3, simultaneously having the feature on stand-by for UFC 4.
But I'm sure this would take away dev time from balance tweaks, new fighters, ect. Plus they may want to use Ref interactions as marketing for UFC 4. I'm not sure. I suppose I'm just a man trying to convince himself this is possible.Comment
