      Towards

Overhand has a diagonal arc. So you can duck em or lean towards the hand throwing it.

Is it possible to watch CPU vs CPU in this game? I see it's free on EA ACCESS, so figured I would ask if it was possible and which modes it is possible in?

Anybody have advice on fighting someone who can literally deny everything? Like as soon as we clinch or get on the ground if I even flick a transition fake they deny every single one? Any tips for this ?

The only success I've had against guys like these are attacking their body early so that I have a stamina and grapple advantage. Otherwise, I just try to stay patient and deny when I've built up enough grapple advantage.

But 9 out of 10 times, if someone's really good at denying on the ground or in clinch positions, I'm ****ed lol.

Just try not to be predictable. I enjoy toying with people in full guard, not necessarily finishing the fight, but throwing elbows and denying transitions. Rubberguard is awesome! Don't make it fun for them.

If you're just trying to stand, you're still gonna need to get denials down yourself. Be aware of your momentum transitions (they have to pre block these), if they're denying this, stay in position and land a strike or two then move. Can put a fake in before moving too. If they bite on the fakes, you can do it with a get up. These are best done when YOU have the stamina advantage or large GA. If someone is better at grappling, you want to avoid this at all costs. If you find yourself in a great position on the ground, . If you're just going to land some damage, I'd stand up.

When you aren't transitioning, you should be throwing strikes, but just like stand up, stamina management is important. I'll give someone on top a free transition (but perhaps pre-deny a submission) if my stamina is getting too low when striking and transitioning.

I got a message from someone less than 12 hours ago on PSN, annoyed that I was pre-blocking and that doesn't work vs high level players - what he must not have realised was, I was cycling him through half guard, side control and backside. Had him down in round one for a good two minutes and was eventually able to predict where he was going. The more you grapple with someone who's wanting to grapple, the more chance they have of working you out. Same with stand up, you throw too many of the one combo and your opponent will make you pay. You keep going to half guard from side control, they'll eventually pre deny up, land a strike or two then deny the next transition. That it can be game over for some people.

It's all dependent on player selection too. I love grappling so tend to pick people with rubber guards and submissions. I always attack. I know some players who just pick boxers or muay Thai guys, if they don't have the stats, these players make a game plan around not getting taken down.

Could you make us aware please, or redirect to a post that can?

Does anybody know what the "levels" do on grappling moves? It unlocks new moves but sometimes it doesn't seem to do anything. Is there a stamina bonus like the striking moves?

I'm definitely a striker. I just try to do everything I can to get back up. I guess I just need to find someone who is really good at grappling and just have some straight up grappling matches. Right now, I am getting pretty easily controlled if I'm on the ground for more than a minute or two.

How do you deny the takedown when they do a driving takedown to the cage then they are on your legs against the cage then they go up to the body and suplex?
I have tried everything and once someone realizes I can't deny it they spam it over and over again.

Also, WHEN do you deny it? as soon as they come up to the body or as soon as they start the takedown animation?

What you've described there sounds like someone is faking the double leg, then going to the body lock.

To defend the body lock, it's R2+the same direction as the over/under transition (either right or left depending on stances).

If this is indeed what they're doing, don't deny on the fake. Deny when they go for the body lock.

I was denying the wrong direction.
Was killing this guy in the stand up then he realized I couldn't deny that takedown so he spammed it then sent me a bunch of hate mail calling me trash.

So there I was riding a 7 fight win streak, fealing pretty good, when I ran in to this Alvarez user.

Almost instantly he put me in the thai clinch against the fence and started destroying me. I would block his strikes and try to transition but he denied me everytime and just kept unloading until he ko'd me. This all in under a minute.

What should I have done here?
