So my only option seems to be an arm trap if they're good enough at denying. Now when I arm trap some guys I seem to get the transition advantage and can sweep them to full mount or half guard or whatever it is.. but then others seem to recover from the arm trap and transition right back to postured up guard before I can even fill my transition meter. Am I doing something wrong here? What's the secret? I feel like I should have a pretty decent grapple advantage after my arm trap but clearly I'm wrong?
The arm traps are good for stopping punches, but I'm one of the type of players you're describing and as soon as someone arm traps me, I start thinking about the strikes I'm throwing.

I think the problem you're having is to do with ground stats and possibly stamina. If my stamina isn't majorly impacted and you arm trap me, I can still keep top position, I just need to be quick filling the meter. I believe you'll only manage to sweep if your fighter has significant ground stats or stamina advantage. My advice would be to let them expend more energy before you trap the arm - but this risks taking more hits.

The one who kick-caught does not know how to throw the opponent. And I do not know how to kick-catch the way to make a forward rotation and run away.

Show me the best way to get GA on these positions defensively:

        Full Guard
        Half Guard
        Back Mount
        Back Flat
        Side Control
        Side Saddle

And in the clinch. (All of them lol)

I'm not the best grappler or anything but I've been pretty decent since UFC 2.

Full Guard/Half Guard - fakes work the best for me. Once your opponent tries to deny the fake and fails, you get permanent GA while you're still in that position. Mix up fakes and strikes to get max GA

Back Mount/Back Flat - Just blocking gives pretty good GA but if you want to max it out or have someone patient on top of you, you can fake from here too.

Not too sure how you would get the most GA in side control/saddle.
          Lineup:
          PG) Gary Payton
          SG) '95-'96 Michael Jordan
          SF) Sapphire Scottie Pippen
          PF) '95-'96 Dennis Rodman
          C) Hakeem Olajuwon

For side control faking sprawl once or twice gives me enough grapple advantage to make the half guard transition very fast and hard to deny.

For side saddle, just blocking a few strikes will give you a small grapple advantage to transition out, but good players can still get the deny sometimes.

Crucifix simply faking the transition in one direction and immediately going the other way gives you GA as the meter fills up very fast after the fake if you transition right away. Very hard to deny.

What's the key to landing good body punches.

I know that even good players are gonna say it's a risky risk/reward, but I want to get better at it.

What are some of the things you have to look for or conditions you need to look for to land it in the safest and most effective way possible?

Only as counters generally. Body straights and hooks are good against naked overhands.

Then you can start tagging them in the head. The you will be able to work them into your combos.

How do y’all deal with laggers?

Nothin more frustrating than lag that seemingly only appears once a dude starts throwing combos or when he starts transitioning

If somebody is lag switching you then you need to report them asap and they will get banned.

As for avoiding lag in general, try to fight ranked matches that are only solid green. If theres not many people on you can get away with solid yellow. But def not red connection.

How do you guys enter/exit the pocket?

It's the thing I'm struggling with the most... Do you use lunges or just block? Use head movement? I seem to just get overwhelmed in the pocket by quick fighters and cant avoid their strikes.

Same here. It seems like everytime I try to throw anything coming in I am instantly rocked by jab rear uppercut hook .

When standing still, flick the left stick at the same time as you input your strike to throw lunging strikes and control your distance way better. This works in ALL DIRECTIONS with almost all strikes.

This is especially useful with hooks, which still works even though youre holding L1.

Yeah this is a good way to close the distance. But then once you do, make sure you plant and throw strikes as they are way more powerful than moving strikes.

You definitely do not want to just walk into the pocket with your block up because last patch, or the one before it, made you very vulnerable walking forward holding block as block breaks much faster when your opponent starts throwing at your block as you're coming in. So don't do that. Thats a good way to get rocked hah.

I like to use feints, wait for my opponent to strike and finish his combo or whatever, and use that time to move into the pocket. It's all about proper timing.
