Is it any strike combination and gives you a better chance at landing a takedown? I hit someone with a 1 2 and went for a power double and the meter filled up incredibly fast. I tried it again using the same fighter and the meter was super slow, is it just random?

It's a little more nuanced than that. For example 1/1 Takedowns will in that category over 2/4 100% beats 50% up to some number like if you have 6/12 I think that will beat 1/1
But when it comes to the judges depends upon what you did in that round. And the winner is who has the most point total for each round.
Also winning the Knockdowns category holds the most weight. Which is weight order when you look at the post fight stats. Knockdowns > Significant Strikes > total strikes > takedowns > submissions > control
With all that said I just try to win the highest category.Comment

I take it all back, I lost a dec where I won in Knockdown, Significant Strikes, and total strikes. It's a little more nuanced than that. For example 1/1 Takedowns will in that category over 2/4 100% beats 50% up to some number like if you have 6/12 I think that will beat 1/1

What do you do when you are caught in top mount ? What's your best option . Cancelling top mount is hard .

Man I've never been able to pull the arm trap off honestly . When you say lower skill level what do you mean ?

Re: EA UFC 3: Teach Me How To Thread: Tips, Strategies, Tutorials
When I say at the lower skill level, I mean I'm not playing against top players. Any techniques I give can work okay in quick match or in lower ranked divisions.
When your opponent throws a strike to your right side the hip bumps are nice because they break opponents posture.
I don't have much of a problem with arm traps, except they do seem a bit more difficult to time this game. (Also you have to hold block to trap arm, which is new)Comment

Works like the arm trap/hip bumps. Hold RT and flick RS the side they punch.
