That wasnt aimed at you personally i underatood the context in which you were saying it i just legitimately believe that is a horrible way to base fighter ratings... and while we are on the subject of prime fighters rockhold and weidman are obviously past theirs... their recent past performances have not been impressive..

I've commented in a few different threads with no response. Alexander is a striker who has a grappling base. This needs to be changed. If I remember correctly the character base gives some kind of advantages like combo speed or transition speed which you can not see in ratings. Volkov feels like there is something off and slow about him and I think it is the Grappler base.

FYI, you wont likely get a response. The dev who does the ratings doesnt post alot. He is watching the threads so he has likely seen your posts.

Would love to see Anderson receive some stat buffs. He doesn't feel that powerful on the whole, especially single shot power.

I wouldn't mind if they nerfed his combo levels but buffed his individual strikes and gave him some counter striking perks.

Especially at middleweight.

agreed. most of his finishes have come from ONE shot like a hook or a straight. He also has decent ground and pound. I don't see him throw many combos

He puts strikes together well.. look at his early fights.. he threw 3-4 strike combos ver fluidly.. it was later on where he started looking for 1 shot counters.... id much rather see him have counter puncher perk and oppurtunist rather than tie terror... he hasnt really used the muay tai clinch knees effectively since rich franklin...

I kind of feel like Light Heavyweight Anderson would be the one that deserves a buff. His only loss is to DC, and he shut down a lot of DC's top game.

As a tried and true Anderson fanboy, I agree. Especially his chin stat. In his prime, he ate flush shot after flush shot. He got caught once, taunting, by a monster Weidman hook and KO'd. ONCE. And now he has a sub 90 chin? Doesn't make sense to me.

Stamina is also weird. I think it might've been done, as you said, to encourage a counter fighting style, but it makes for poor balance considering he is one of the greatest strikers of all time and doesn't have any ground control or wrestling stats to speak of. Basically, if you're using Anderson, you're trying to strike someone until they're dead, and if you don't have the stamina to do that you have nothing to work with.

Yep - and Nogueira who survived a flush Cro Cop headkick and has only been ko'd 3 times total is an 85 chin. Meanwhile Overeem has been knocked out a 11+ times and has an 88.

Well it's not only disrespectful but also flat out inaccurate to represent a pioneer that fought through several generations of MMA this way. He's never had a bad chin ever - that's one of his most redeeming qualities. He does have and always has had poor striking defense.

This is why his 89 block rating is completely wrong, and his 85 chin is also completely wrong. I'd even venture to say his 89 head movement is a bit too generous.

I'd say 85 block, 84 head movement with a 91 chin would be a more realistic representation.


Here's a accurate full break down of Nogueira where they mention how "Nogueira's submission game from the full guard is very smooth. He excels at chaining his submissions together and catching his opponent while he's preoccupied with the last attempt. The armbar, omoplata, and triangle are very connected, and Nogueira switches between them like a much lighter grappler."


I've been saying this for over a month now that Nogueira constantly baits and switches his submissions on opponents but I'm "just a homer." No I'm just seeking accuracy. Despite my mentioning this - Nogueira still doesn't have a single chainable submission on the game.

Yeah, I really dislike Vick, like a lot, but he deserves some better ratings. I'd bump his striking up to the 89ish range, in line with the other relatively unproven fringe top 10 guys like Iaquinta and Felder.
