See, I honestly do feel like I was sold wolf tickets here.

I was under the impression we were getting this technical, realistic, sim focused, next level MMA game.

What we got was a brawler.

The beta definitely was not my cup of tea, but I still held out hope. I mean, it was just a beta right? The whole point of a beta is to improve it, so I held out hope we would see some changes I was looking for.

Again, this is just my opinion, but this game doesn't feel like MMA to me.

I don't think i've ever been more disappointed with a game in my life.

Especially when after 2 years people, rightfully, expect an improved product.

...and the product is improved. I love the striking...the game has sliders...i like the new reversals and cage animations. Its improved to me.

Whats funny is the only excuse people have for buying the game even though they knew they had to is "We had no other choice"....and thats the exact reason EA and other companies get exclusive licenses. You guys cant help yourself and you spend money on games you dont even like simply because you cant say:

"Let me save my money and wait 3 mos to see if the game is improved"

      or

"EA ****ed this game up so I'm going to buy it used so that it doesnt get my money".

Nope you have to buy at a release like a ****ing drug addict. LOL.

How about because the community and league i'm a part of for what, 2 years now?... is....now playing UFC 3. Because, yup, you guessed it. It's the new game. Woah.

So I either play UFC 3, or well, good bye community friends.

There's plenty of reason's why we have no choice really.

You're being combative, just to change the subject.

          Nope. Nope. Nope.

I cant let you do that.

You were vocal as **** during the beta about how much you hated it. I dont remember one post from the devs or the GCs that wouldve made you think that the issues you had with the beta were going to be different. I dont think the list of beta fixes addressed any or many of the issues you had with the striking system.

Even then you still had video after video that showed you it was a similar game before release.

Yet, you still bought the game at launch.

I would be more empathetic if it was deserved. But when people have valid concerns, voice them and for the most part constructively, and the game developer shows up asking to be complimented for a better job than ufc 2 and talking about how "negative" everything is, I have no feelings of empathy for anyone but the consumers who voice their concerns and get responses like the ones in here. Think i'm colder, thats just how I see it.

              BETA.

That is the reason why I thought it would get better.

The entire point of a BETA is to identify issues and fix them.

              Very. Simple.

I didn't play EA Access of a finished game.

              I played a BETA.

You couldve bought it used. You couldve waited for a price drop. You couldve waited until the patches dropped.

Your community friends wouldve still been here 1 or 3 mos later. ****, 6 mos later.

I'm not trying to change the subject. The thread is about having negative views on the game. One look at the first page and its clear that people are free to speak negatively about the game. Thats the end of the thread right there.

You played a beta that you hated. You werent promised that any of the things you hated would change. You still bought the game.

                  Own that.

Own it. That doesnt mean that you cant dislike the game. It doesnt excuse the devs for bugs, glitches or missing features. It doesnt excuse them for features you dont like.

With that said, you bought a game you knew you would dislike and that you couldve confirmed you would dislike simply from watching videos. You chose to still do it.

Again, come out of your box. We get you like the product as is. But how about realizing you are not the majority? How about realizing you are literally the ONLY person i've seen say the KOs look good? Its great you are a EA Gamechanger, but you'd think in your role you'd be more constructive than anyone. How can I not fear for this game when you are preaching to people to play UD3 as an alternative and being the only person who likes the look of the KOs?

Blaming the consumer for a mediocre product cause the market is monopolized is absolutely ridiculous. Its not a "lame excuse" as you put it earlier, its what we are sadly left with. You are having a really hard time seeing things any other way than how you already do, but understand passionate MMA + VG fans are not going to pass on a purchase of the only up to date MMA game available. That doesn't give you an excuse to hate on the consumer as if thats somehow a reason we can't voice our criticisms.

To be fair I get what they're saying. I was on the fence on whether to get this on release but I caved...

You want an up to date roster. Up to date stats. You want to be apart of the community. You want to play the MMA game with your friends. Etc....

This is also the best MMA game to date imo. There are just some things that really put me off. Most of all is the input delay (illusion??????). It dulls the experience in so many ways. Technical striking isn't so technical now because timing isn't as much of a factor. That in itself is very, very damaging. I think I'd enjoy the game 10x more if it felt smoother and more responsive. It'd change the way the game plays in a lot of ways.

Re: I hope a lesson can be learned here

                        1) The only lesson anybody is going to learn from threads like this is developers learning to either not interact or not even read the forums. This isn’t constructive at all.

                        2) As someone who loves football far more than MMA and has walked away from Madden because it just isn’t fun for me anymore, I don’t want to hear anybody talk about how they don’t have an option. You can not play an MMA game. There are many things you can spend your time and money on that aren’t this.

                        3) What you saw was what you got. The beta was open. Videos abound on updates to the game and you can watch any number of people streaming actual gameplay any time. If somehow you still bought it not knowing what it was you ought to be too embarrassed to admit that.

There is no other realistic option, and I have laid out plenty of reasons why.

If you are a hardcore MMA fan, and a hardcore gamer.... you are gonna buy UFC 3.

                            It's really that simple.

I agree about the constructive feedback. I just dont know if this community is capable of giving it consistently. I'll see threads where someone writes a great post laying out their complaint with a solution. I'll come back a day later and that same person is bashing the game with some short statement meant just to get a reaction or troll.
I think what you are missing is that you shouldn't have to be a member of this forum to find that information out.

Not everyone is sat with their fingers on the pulse waiting for someone to debunk the lies that were put out.

I stopped posting here midway through last year as I had a lot of stuff going on. I came back after playing the career to ask about it. It was then that I saw the comments about it being misleading etc.

My point being that if I, as EA's consumer, only looked at their marketing material I would have been mis-sold.

When did it become a requirement to play a beta, join a forum and pay a monthly subscription to trial a game to find out it is flawed or been mis-sold? That is just not reality for most people i'm afraid.

As I said I don't think arguing over salient points gets anyone any further to solving the issues at hand. Nor does dismissing people's grievances.

I will remain optimistic that at some point we will have a complete game and at some point through a process of elimination, more quality posters here of which I consider myself to be one.
