I actually prefer the current damage - it's a much better depiction of the damage inflicted in a fight and is the way to go.

Please leave it where it is, all this instant regen, attack attack, backup regen, attack attack stuff is waaaay too arcadey.
At least the way it is now depicts the sport a little more accurately.. Fight recklessly and expect short fights. Period.Comment

Honestly what you just described here sounds like the best and most realistic thing this game could have. When you get rocked it should snowball, and should be very hard to recover from. In my opinion the frequency of getting wailed on, or rocked and then recovering is one of the things that made this game feel super arcadey and cheesy.
I do however understand what your saying though, guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on if that is a bad thing or not though.Comment

Getting blitzed after an active knock down? That's what happens in real life when someone hurts someone.

To be clear nothing is wrong with damage. What is wrong is people throwing 130+ strikes per round and recovering stamina like no other between breaks.

The issue is the way block break works. With your health so low anything that's blocked will bleed through and knock you down again. And then we have jabs destroying our block.
I'd much rather see jab's ability to break the block removed and the tax from retreat lowered first. And increase the regen by like 50%. It's definitely in a much better place than before but I think it's a little too far.
I think RetractedMonkey is on PS4 as well. Would you mind playing him to see if he can change your mind?Comment

I think it should be turned up just about 50% after knockdowns.

Bleedthrough is cool, it's that your health is so low that pretty much any combo will auto drop/rock you again. You're kinda stuck since we can't lunge and block anymore. So if you're dropped against the cage there isn't much you can do.
I know you're way better than me at the game tho so I'll wait to see how the fight between you and RetractedMonkey turns out.Comment

I put the damage sliders 3 ticks to the left, once a guy has been rocked it seems like his head health is very low for the rest of the fight.
Gonna experiment some more.
Edit: seems to be fine tbh, will report back more later.
I actually don't mind it as it makes the AI more passive usually, counter it coming in with a tasty 3 piece and it'll retreat for the next 20 seconds to let its head heal.
It also leads to the overall headhealth dropping much quicker than it used to, which I again quite like.
My only issue is indeed knockdowns, Drop the AI so it goes into an alert KO and then hit it immediately as it gets hack up, you'll instantly drop it again because its head hasn't regenerated at all.
I definitely think it needs some tweaking around rocks and KDs, but its grown on me a helluva a lot for offline, I can see how folk wouldn't like it, and in hectic online fights it may cause issues.
One issue it certainly causes is accidental KOs out of chokes. Chokes drop the sub fighters head health significantly, with the slowed regen, its not hard to say, release the sprawl guillotine once you roll into the mount and get an easy TKO.
I've only done that offline. Hopefully it wouldn't work online. Hopefully.Comment
