I'm no expert, just speaking from experience (especially since I've been known to travel with my XBOX for work, and use hotel internet), but doesn't an already laggy match normally get worse during the submission mini game? I'm not arguing that it doesn't make defending grappling and subs a huge pain in the ***. I'm just saying that most of the time, nothing is being timed intentionally, and with most players, nothing is being done intentionally. That innocent scenario however doesn't seem to be the case with Ty. It seems intentional and convenient.
Exploiting a ****ty connection warrants something. That's a lot of dirt on Ty, and a removal from the leaderboard would be justified.

I told the devs about him about 2-3 weeks ago. He KO'd me with an unblockable headkick in lag. I PM'd him and called him a laggy ba****d. He gave me the same fake sob story. "I'm so sorry man, there's a snowstorm here jacking up my internet, I'll stop playing for the day."

20 minutes later, I match up with him again...

This time unblockable takedowns unto inescapable submission. FUN!

Glad you started the thread so it doesn't just look like I'm salty for losing to some random guy who happens to have a poor connection. It's obvious this loser is intentionally lagging his connection to exploit every hole that exists in the game's network architecture.

I also agree that if someone lags hard enough they should be booted.

I've been lobbying the devs for two things:

1) A pre-match ping meter that allows us to decline laggy matches

2) A ping threshold that boots and gives an L to someone who exceeds a certain ping during the match

Not sure if either will happen, but I literally want to uninstall the game every time I fight someone who abuses lag like this.

That seems like a really elitist outlook. Not everyone has access to fiber internet.

Sometimes my internet has spikes due to me living in Northern Canada, i should be punished for that?

No one said anything of the sort. Are you playing on Wi-Fi? There are steps you can do to prevent this. Madden already has these measures implemented to remove people for grieving and it's not nearly as time sensitive.

We're talking about people that intentionally lag at key moments. I'd recommend you have your ISP come check your line

I can remember getting booted from battlefield games growing up because my ping could never stay under 125. It sucked.

There is only 1 isp in my entire territory and my town only has access to DSL. Max download speed of 15mgbs on a good day.

I had lag the first day of the patch, reset my router and it did nothing.

All im saying is some people don't have the luxury of good internet.

For sure - well I'd recommend looking into a Netduma router as you can actually set a strict filter for the distance of players you search for.

That'd probably help you more than anything. As far as 15 mbs that's plenty to game with. Gaming takes less than a megabyte. Your problem is with how your connection is routed.

Actually upon further investigation I've discovered that TripLe-Zilio is Lylev1988 aka The-Real-HERO-66 and at that point (1:35) he actually launched a DoS attack from a cheap booter on my connection. I have a ton of bandwidth so my connection sustained, but he kept launching them throughout the match - here's my log with proof.

That guy is a cancer in this game, Not coming back until this guy is banned. It’s impossible to go up in ranking as I always get matched against him once I get into a title fight. So frustrating, I guess he has some serious issues, cause I can’t imagine how you can enjoy getting high in ranking by playing that way everyday.

I do think Sony is the only one that can issue MAC-bans, don't think EA can do that, although what lylev is doing is an obvious violation of the PSN TOS
