Tbh it’s not super realistic but that applies to the entire sub system. Plus how often would someone play around in the guard of a sub specialist in real life? Usually they’re focused on controlling them or getting up.
True, but other parts of the game being unrealistic shouldn't mean its right if your argument is for realism. Your argument should then be, "both are unrealistic, fix both".

I would largely agree about people not wanting to hang out in a submission fighter's guard. However, there aren't a whole lot of super dangerous guys on the bottom in MMA. Even less in the game. Maybe Dern, Maia, Werdum, Ferguson, and Jacare and that's it. They should be having that nice two gate sub from there, but not every average Joe.

      I agree with that

I think the sub specialist in general should have higher level subs. Stuff like RNC should be 2 gates for specialist and 3-4 for everyone else. Maia taking your back should be a death sentence.

But I think the issue here is more so the moveset since we cant expect subs to change until UFC 4. We have black belts that dont have arm triangles and Kimuras but mediocre grapplers have access to 2 gate subs.

I’d be all for movesets being changed so that only a few guys are truly dangerous off their back.

Who else has it? I know Nate does and I thought only the BJJ fighters known for their off-the-back can pull it off. Is there anyone who shouldn't be able to but is?

Honestly it’s not that fast. And the animation of someone doing it is very distinctive.

Jacare has no switch subs. He doesn't have the rear naked to armbar from back sitting nor the triangle to armbar from full guard.

We need more of this tbh. The stages could be longer than two yh, but we need more arm traps straight into submission attempts for certain fighters from bottom positions like the guard and half guard. When i'm in a good submission fighters guard, I should feel like I don't wanna hang around in there, whether i'm down or postured up.

There's a reason those armbars are two gaters.

Mike says he's arm is broken ...well wouldn't it be something if the slam didn't interrupt the arm bar at the cost of extra stamina or something in the game

Re: Stack Guard arm trap sub

The difference is Cowboy subbed him after Perry postured his upper body lower than it should have been. COwboy didn't catch a punch. If Perry knew what he was doing in stacked, that would not have happened. Leaning your body over your legs that far defeats the entire purpose of stacked guard.
