Which is always going to clash with people who want the sport to be a little more simulation based. Because in my mind if two equally skilled players pick Jon Jones and Gian Villante there should only ever be one outcome IMO.

I was just gonna say something like this. The classic sim vs competitve conundrum.

In a lot of cases, what competitve players want, sim players don't and visa versa. This is one of the few games I play online, but I'm far more sim than competitive. I hate things like "block 2 shots off your back and gain an advantage in transitioning". I do not like having mechanics like this, and prefer a more free-from & unpredictable way of playing, but it's good for competitive players.

I don't need my mind changed. I've said I am all for this mode. As I've said before, YOU are trying to take something away from ME. Not the other way around. You're trying to say that random chance is best for competitive play when you are not a competitive player. You watch Youtube videos and think you know how it is. I've played it first hand. But, yeah, you know all about bro.

There isn't anything elitist about it. It's simple logic. You aren't a competitive player, I am. Therefore, my opinion holds more value in that regard. It's like a physical therapist talking to someone who has watched physical therapy videos trying to tell the professional how to do his job. That's second hand knowledge against first hand knowledge. Even if you did see what you thought you saw, the actual mechanics behind something could be totally different than what you think because you just haven't experienced it. Look up the Dunning-Kruger effect.

You thinking that random chance will change the competitive balance for the better is almost objectively wrong.

Here are some pictures. Apologies for the poor quality. The opponent using JDS quit after the eventual knockout, that's why I have only the separate rounds. I should have ended him in R1. He then got enough KDs and Stuns to knock me out as well, but couldn't.
I also needed 9 knockdowns and 4 stuns as Mark Hunt to finish Kimbo Slice in the first round. These are absolutely not the only examples, anyone who's played the game can give similar ones, and plenty of them.

My question is on what planet, exactly, is this realistic and these numbers represent the sport of MMA and the fighters Derrick Lewis and Mark Hunt even remotely well? Have a look at the outputs too, they're pretty high and I should never have been able do throw so many. This also has absolutely zero to do with skill level. Given these numbers, these fights should have been over decades earlier, whether the players involved were KeneticNRG and yourself, or two third-graders. Why? Because there are 8 stuns and 2 knockdowns for Lewis, 7 stuns and 4 knockdowns for JDS, and 4 stuns and 9 (yes, 9) knockdowns in one round for Hunt. Everyone can decide for themselves whether they find this to be realistic or enjoyable in any way, shape or form.

Maybe you guys should get a top 100 subforum, where you can post all your high value opinions without having to deal with the stupid ideas from non-competitive players.

See Bigfoot vs Hunt. it's not outside the realm of possibility for fighters to hurt each other thatbmuch. well 9 knockdowns is pushing it lol.

Back in the Fight Night days you literally had to knock your opponent down 3+ time EVERY FIGHT to win. Very formulatic and essentially, you had to deplete his health bar a certain about before you could even come close to winning.

But in UFC 3 I often get one-shot kills in the first or second round when my opponent hasn't really taken THAT much damage.

I particularly love when they miss a big roundhouse; spin around; and I land a crushing Overhand .......

Just about every Stun, Knockdown, and Knockout seems Fair and Square these days. That def. wasn't the case back in the day!

So overall.....I prefer vulnerability curves vs. RNG, I suppose haha
I usually agree with you but this is statement could not be more wrong. FNC certainly had flash KO's. They were infuriating but they resulted from being hit with a clean shot.

I am still in the top 100 on the FNC leader boards on xbox and have not played for years.

Well I suppose I was referencing FNR3 and FNR4 more than anything, but you do have a point about FNC.

Still, seems much easier to get flash KOs in this game than in FNC even, but I haven't played since like 2010 and my memory is fading haha

The driving takedown will cost more stamina in general than a regular takedown, but the stamina cost is a function of ratings, the amount of time it takes to get to the cage, and the opponent's denial timing. #patchspoilers #EAUFC3

The success/failure of the denial of a driving takedown is a function of those same variables, not just the timing of the denial. #patchspoilers #EAUFC3

This is such a game changer. Haven’t played the game since spring, but after hearing about this and many other grappling additions (from previous patches) I’ve been playing like crazy.

Starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel as far as EA UFC 3 becoming a well-rounded game. The only major thing missing now is clinch mobility
