Re: Let us see who our opponent is picking
In undisputed and fnc u could see who your opponent was choosing and it didn’t ruin anythingComment

Re: Let us see who our opponent is picking
Those games also never were thinking about esports. This is a terrible idea. It would encourage too many mirror matches and would greatly hurt the games replayabilityComment

Re: Let us see who our opponent is picking
how would it encourage mirror matches, because if someone chooses a top tier fighter the other might do the same to even the odds? sounds fair and more competitive to meComment

Re: Let us see who our opponent is picking
Many players use b fighters and do extremely well in ranked. It is a skill defiiency not a fighter pick issue. Your in favor of constant mirror matches? Many arent. It should be up to you to win regardless of who your opponent picks. Worst idea ive heard in a long time. It would kill ranked. Wed see even less b fighters than you do now. Youd get the opposite of what you want. If you need top tier guys its due to lack of skillComment

i don’t use top tier fighters but i don’t see why would someone would be afraid of the other person ‘matching’ their pickComment

Re: Let us see who our opponent is picking
Everyone would pick the exact same fighter. Its boring and unrealistic. What do you mean real life tournament? Like an mma tournament? You cant obviously fight yourself. Your argument is baselessComment

Re: Let us see who our opponent is picking
no i mean a fighting game tournament where you’re playing each other in person.
obviously they can both see what character the other is using. yet no one has ever complained about that taking ‘strategy and competition’ out the gameComment

Re: Let us see who our opponent is picking
I'm curious... How can you hide your pick in a real life gaming tournament where both players are playing next to each other? How does that work?

Re: Let us see who our opponent is picking
Counter-picking is definitely a thing in traditional fighting games but it mostly occurs after a match. It's also worth noting that learning a new character (especially at the highest level) takes hours of work whereas UFC characters are relatively similar.
Anyway I'm against the whole idea because I don't wanna wait around to face GSP anyway and this only seems to benefit people who enjoy using inferior characters (and like somebody mentioned, traditional fighting games try to make characters as balanced as possible).
I guess the best case scenario is that you could set a filter that makes it so you can only pick low tier fighters and deal with the long queues. Even then this would be problematic as characters like Costa/Almeida/Sonnen are clearly superior to other low tier fighters.¯\_(ツ)_/¯Comment
