Look at all these familiar names coming out of the woodwork that I haven't seen post in forever (I'm a lurker myself).

These little tidbits of info and the assumed announcement today is making my belly tingle like I'm climbing the rope in gym class.

Haha yup that’s me for sure I’m on this forum a lot I just never post. I do read into what everyone’s talking about. N each time a new game drops I’ll pop in n add my 2 cents.

Sometimes it’s just fun to read that others have the same passion as you. N we all are excited to finally see what the dev teams Been up to. Can’t wait for the beta. 👍🏼

Why do you always call it UFC EA 4 though? 🤣

Last time they released a trailer and Martial mind made a video detailing all the new features shown. Couldn't it be the same now, if it's just a trailer?

Re: UFC Gameplay and Tuning Closed Beta

Oh man I can’t wait, so stoked. As some others said, I’m going into it with an open mind. I won’t have any pre conceived notions as to what it should be like, I won’t be comparing it to any other games.

So no matter what, I won’t be ****ting on it or getting discouraged within an hour of playing. Hell, it will probably take at least 10 hours of actual live, PvP online play before I can make any form of assessments. And EVEN THEN, 10 hours is FAR from enough to actually assess the game, or know how it will play out in the long term competitive scene. But, I believe 10 hours IS enough for experienced MMA gamers like myself, and several others on this forum - who have had tens of thousands of online MMA matches - to make some general assessments.

And there are exceptions to the 10 hour rule, of course. For example, on EA UFC 3, the rock->slam KO was something most experienced players were able to identify as problematic within an hour of competitive play. But 99% of the time, we should ALL give it ten hours.

Of course, there are some things I’ll be looking forward to and hoping for deep down.

I want to see a better grappling system. I want to see a better wrestling system, in particular. I want to see a grappling system that is more active - which in my mind, would mean nerfing or removing concepts like transition denials earning grapple advantage (such things promote stagnation). I want to see a stamina system that is more “fair” in how it is affected by grappling, compared to striking (UFC 3 punished grappling - particularly offensive wrestling - far too harshly in the stamina dep’t when compared to striking).

Even so... if the grappling feels wack at first, I’m gonna stay optimistic and give it time. If I think it sucks, there’s a good chance I just need to familiarize myself with the system more before making judgements, and even if it IS undeniably wack, there’s nothing that a few patches can’t fix.

But again, at the end of the day, I’m just so excited. I can’t WAIT to use Colby Covington, and pour on the volume with boxing and wrestling. I can’t wait to use Yoel, and stand there blocking things, calmly staying relaxed and moving slowly, before exploding. I can’t wait to use Ben Askren, and just plot forward right through the fire of my opponent’s strikes, looking to force it into a wrestling match. I can’t fookin WAIT to use Gregor Gillespie, and just walk someone down with a high intensity boxing attack, backing them up to the cage before going full-attack mode with the wrestling.

Please tell me that worked on the Judging, I can't tell you how many fights I lost over 1 checked leg kick knockdown or getting stunned once despite outlanding my opponent and having more top control. This is supposed to be a sim, but I'm tired of this series catering to casuals.

I hope that changes this time.

They tell us before Main Card show that fights are scored off Striking, Grappling, Aggression, & Octagon Control. But in these games, Striking holds all of weight while the other 3 skills are irrelevant.

Yeah body kicks score way too much, strikes in general too. Can't tell you how many times I land power TDs yet they arent shown in the highlight but body kicks are. I know the highlight doesnt tell you who won the round everytime but it does is general.

I'm seriously not trying to be a negative nancy here but I get the feeling we are going to get a EA UFC 4 logo followed by a "We can't wait to share more in the coming months"

Lol I doubt it, since the beta is confirmed, it's almost confirmed we will get details today.

It will probably be one of those highlight reel trailers that barely tell you anything without gameplay

Atleast the beta isn’t far out

They should at least separate reversals and denials.

If possible reversals should be replaced by scrambles.
