Re: PETITION TO REMOVE CAFS FROM ROSTER RANKED.
What could solve a lot of things is the following: let us select one of the real fighters from the ufc as a template for our cafs in terms of maximum stats and movesets. and let us work towards that maximum stats and moves. then let us select the way they move, stance and select our own celebrations. This way it can never be unbalanced because the stats can never exceed the maximum stats the real fighter has and also there will be a huge variety in caf fighters you will Come accros. For example you can make a caf with the template of overeem, so good kicks and clinch, glass chin. Perks and moves of Khabib, plus the celebrations and stance of mike perry. Combined with the cosmetic of the cafs the variations could be endlessComment

Re: PETITION TO REMOVE CAFS FROM ROSTER RANKED.
The way I see it is that it sorta hurts both environments.
On one hand you take away some of the "control" of ranked my letting CAFs in. Even with the "archetypes" most of these CAFs will still probably be max height and reach and like many have said before, takes away the more detailed gameplans you could form if you KNOW the fighter you are about to face. Not to mention takes away the authentic UFC feel from Ranked.
On the other hand it takes away the ability to make CAFs as unique as you want them if you need to stick to these "archetypes" taking half of the fun away from making a CAF.
This is coming from a guy who enjoys both modes. I remember in UFC 2 I'd hop into Quick Match intentionally to fight CAFs that I knew were probably going to be 100 overalls. I'd use my designated "CAF killers" in each division, and it was a blast. Many o' CAF learned to fear Mike Tyson in UFC 2Comment

Re: PETITION TO REMOVE CAFS FROM ROSTER RANKED.
This whole discussion is eerie for me.
Last week before the reveal I was typing a write up of things EA UFC can copy from EA FIFA . One of my points was to find a way to add CAFs to ranked.
Now bear in mind that I don't use CAFs nor do I play ranked. So I had misgivings about posting the write-up .
Seeing how this topic has the community in arms makes me glad I never posted the write up on here.
Man I hope the devs can find middle ground on this and let's move forward .
Thing is the addition of CAFs to ranked seems to be kind of the selling point of UFC 4 . This one will be tough . Tough war to fight. I'm sure we can come to some solution .

Re: PETITION TO REMOVE CAFS FROM ROSTER RANKED.
How many of you would migrate to quick fight if they dont split caf and real fighter ranked?
It has all the old toggles for CAFs and weightclasses plus it has leaderboards now.Comment

Re: PETITION TO REMOVE CAFS FROM ROSTER RANKED.
Nobody whose name got even close to the leaderboards is migrating away from Ranked. The addictive aspect on online ranked will pull people in like a magnet....precision beats power and timing beats speed... and realism beats meta.Comment

Re: PETITION TO REMOVE CAFS FROM ROSTER RANKED.
I see it as the new ranked for many people that want roster matchups if they donr split caf and real fighter ranked. They get to toggle CAFs and weightclasses.Comment

Re: PETITION TO REMOVE CAFS FROM ROSTER RANKED.
As long as you can switch CAFs off and select weight classes, I'll just stick to Quick Match, as I was going to to do anyway.
I still hope that the ranked crew can get some sort of bone thrown back their way concerning this issue.
Really, I wouldn't mind the created fighters nearly as much if they didn't decide to give them all sorts of things that make them look like they don't belong in the Octagon. I don't want to fight Spiderman or Batman in a UFC game.Comment

Re: PETITION TO REMOVE CAFS FROM ROSTER RANKED.
People were worried every game would be against the Heat/Warriors, but ranked remained popular, and actually, a lot of people picked teams besides those two, which I'm still holding out hope for as far as picking licensed fighters vs CAFs.
Remember, the biggest thing with most people picking CAFs in unranked (I assume) was the 100 OVR. Take that away, and why wouldn't they just start picking Jon Jones or Conor or Mighty Mouse every time? That's the lesser of two evils by far IMO. That happens already in UFC 3.
I'm not saying this was a decision I agree with by EA, but at least it could be mitigated somewhat.Comment

Re: PETITION TO REMOVE CAFS FROM ROSTER RANKED.
Absolutely not. It’s not about me or my ego at all. It’s deeper than that. It’s about the inability to move the game in a certain direction. It’s about the philosophy shared by plenty of people on here about realism. Many of the people I’m referring to are gamechangers and highly ranked competitive players. They don’t think realism is important. Well, here you go a more balanced, super unrealistic change has been made to the game.
Ranked competitive players, you can direct your ire towards them as well, but even the higher echelon of the competitive playerbase recognize when something was unrealistic and broke the game. The amount of happiness I see from guys who were top 5-10, ESFL Champs, who see how responsive lunges are, how the "1000 miles away" tracking for that RIDICULOUS jab feint body straight is now gone, and now with the changes to stats, for the most part you really have to play with the fighter to their strengths to have the best success with them.
I have some confidence that after this beta, they will fix what needs to be fixed, and with anything else as long as the community logically states what needs to be changed + and how it can be done given with what's available for the current Dev team.

Don't make a statement like "that we don't think realism isn't important" when it comes to *all* the GCs. Aside from maybe 2 GCs, whenever we ask for a suggestion: we pull it up from IRL Fights and ask how it can be implemented in game, with its risks and rewards.

The point I was making wasn’t that you don’t care about realism, it’s that everything gets sacrificed at the altar of “competitive balance”. Your response supports that.
You guys harped on this feint jab body straight like it was some major issue for people outside of the top of the leaderboards. So either you all spend your opportunity with the devs talking about **** like that, or you have little impact on the game whatsoever. But hey, I’m glad the ESFL guys are happy!
And yes, I’m sure you guys use real MMA fights to inform your suggestions, but it’s usually superficial, aesthetically driven in isolated situations.
Have you ever honestly compared how the game compares to an actual MMA fight? Are there fundamental things that immediately jump out as being completely out of bounds? Do you support those things because we’ve found a sweet spot for competitive balance?
If so, that my issue, and it’s a fair criticism. It’s not personal, it’s just a philosophical difference. People can look at the game and judge for themselves. However, I can already see the “we didn’t have much say in what happened” narrative coming out, when in reality the truth is probably closer to somewhere between that and “we used our incredible, albeit limited opportunity to focus on the wrong stuff”....precision beats power and timing beats speed... and realism beats meta.Comment

Re: PETITION TO REMOVE CAFS FROM ROSTER RANKED.
Why are all of the gamechangers so LASER FOCUSED on this instead of the dumbed down gameplay?
Were you guys all okay with having almost no submissive clinch transitions and having the only option be to escape clinch?
When in a bad clinch position (too many to name just try it out) your only option is to escape the clinch. No option to advance to a better clinch position from these submissive clinch positions.
Also, having no option to manually pull the opponent back down from postured up GnP. Just hold R2 until the game decides to automatically pull them back down for you.
And no transitions from bottom when opponent is postured up ground and pounding lol. Were you guys all okay with this BS?Comment
