Sorry your wrong, you do have to pre-deny, at least in every matchup I have tried. It has been tested thoroughly, and already acknowledged that it is not working as intended. A big portion of the takedown mechanics is not even being showcased because of the denial window not being what it should.

I may just suck, that could be s distinct possibility lol. On a serious note you must have the reflexes of a ninja if you can deny the takedowns upon seeing your opponent shoot. I wish I could.......teach me, sensei🙏Comment

Do you have any stick drift on your controller?
Are you holding either analogue stick at ALL when the person shoots for a TD?
In other words, when you are moving backwards and your opponent shoots, are you letting go of the LS(movement) before pressing RT+LT?Half of this game is 90% mental - Tim Sylvia

Wondering if it’s possible to implement UFC 3 submission gates system as an option...?
Not gonna lie I’m not really fond of this new submission system especially with the screen going red...Seems kind of cheesy

You can turn the screen thing off and if you turn the circle slowly and start from the left side your bar will be small it simulates not panicking and it’s pretty easy and simple once you try it a couple of times

Hmm...idk if im doing the rightthings, but im kinda exeriencing the same. If i dont pre deny, im always getting taken down. Its like you cant defend on reaction. I kno i read that you can defend late and on the drives on something GPD wrote up, but it doesnt seem to be working for me. Really wish the practice mode was in so i cud do some lab on it.Comment

So is the trick to release the left stick and right stick before pressing L2 and R2 to block the takedowns and the using the left stick backwards to sprawl or follow the drive?

If you're holding the L stick when you hit RT+LT the game will read that as a whiffed drive takedown denial. Resulting in you being taken down instantly.Half of this game is 90% mental - Tim Sylvia

Re: Only way to stop a takedown is to predeny-Subs vs ai are broken.
So I have to apologize in this thread. I was wrong. I have been stuffing many takedowns now thanks to a game changer explaining how it is done. I guess that is the importance of some actual explanation to the systems to keep us all from looking like fools. But also to help get accurate feedback. Now I would have to completely retest to know if the takedown game in imbalanced or not and will not have time to give any kind of feedback that might be valuable on the matter.Comment

I don’t think it’s possible to escape a limb submission from the Legendary AI
I’ve escaped plenty chokes but the AI is on top of you immediately and you can’t shake them. Regardless of if you’re taking your time or moving erratically.Comment

Luckily After 150 +fights Im finally getting the hang of limb subs.. haha, still no luck on chokes... Denying takedowns is easy enough. Striking from on the ground seems overpowered in comparison to standing. I can Hit a ton of flying knees head kicks etc in a row without a finish but 5 strikes on the ground and its over every time.. Refs should prob let those positions go longer like in real life, Its rare to see gnp finish guys in real life unless they have been rocked on the feet first.Comment

Re: Only way to stop a takedown is to predeny-Subs vs ai are broken.
What do you mean by “whiffed drive takedown denial”? Do you have to be moving to deny a “driving takedown”?
any clarification would be lovely. Thanks....precision beats power and timing beats speed... and realism beats meta.Comment

Re: Only way to stop a takedown is to predeny-Subs vs ai are broken.
But its not as difficult as it sounds once you get used to it.
The L stick is how you deny chained turning takedowns, you match the direction with your L stick.
So any input on the left stick will read as you tried to deny a turning takedown. Essentially like whiffing a transition denial, then they get a free transition.Half of this game is 90% mental - Tim Sylvia
