Re: AI Logic
why not open it up like tendencies in 2k basketball? I've never tested it in the extreme to see how well it works but I wonder if I could make Dikembe Mutombo a 3 point shooter.
When playing fighting games, I find the default AI is most of the time too aggressive. It would be fun/challenging to fight a "point fighter" or counter striker who is keeping away and barely throwing any initial strikes.
Thats something I'm testing now in my dreams boxing game and it's kind of cool chasing someone all over the ring. In most games it feels like the AI is set to "terminator" to which Skynet is apropos.
I know this ship aint easy, just throwing it out there.
In dreams it's not too tough because you set the AI to have a minimum and maximum distance in terms of what it's looking and following at. That rule can be broken based on circumstance but it works quite well.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: AI Logic
For roster fighters, there's been a lot of pushback to making them customizable in game. Even being for offline-only. To that end, I've made the tuning of roster fighters very available to the GC group and some others on the team to help get them as balanced and authentic as we can with the tools available. We've more than doubled the number of customized fighter AIs from UFC 3, and the GC have helped a ton in this regard. We've also been much more liberal with applying the custom AIs to other roster fighters where they make more sense than the template AIs, so there's much more variety than before.why not open it up like tendencies in 2k basketball? I'd love to see full CAF AI customization in the future, or close to it. In-game customization for roster fighter AI is unlikely, unless some things change internally and with the UFC, and I'm not too bent out of shape with that.Comment

Re: AI Logic
By way of not answering questions that I'm not allowed to, thereby keeping my job and continuing to build this game, being allowed to continue posting on these forums as candidly as I do, and loving what I get paid to do: Yes. Very fun.
The best response to questions that I don't feel comfortable answering, or that are being asked by community members who have shown many times that they're interested only in complaining and not discussing problems, is to simply ignore it and stay silent. I'll pipe up when and where I feel I can, and have no qualms about drawing a line in the sand and sticking to it.Comment

Are you cleared to give any insight into what you were referencing? Or did you already spill the beans and I'm just blind? Thanks!Comment

Re: AI Logic
Hmm i see, so now i've gotten your attention? Which i feel kinda sad about it tbh with you, that the only way getting attention these days in the present industry with it's certain community is either giving the pedestal treatment or being a "jerk" (as someone implied) to invoke someones defense mechanism which was not the intended purpose.By way of not answering questions that I'm not allowed to, thereby keeping my job and continuing to build this game, being allowed to continue posting on these forums as candidly as I do, and loving what I get paid to do: Yes. For starters, you could've made it easier for both of us by just, i don't know returning a simple message that you're not eligible to answer my question just yet
? That way, you would've eitherway avoided any potential legal trouble with your company combined without the necessity of typing this message to explain yourself and your motives of fully ignoring that would potentially work out for you which you eventually didn't abide by.
I seem to recall me having quite a history of discussing problems (constructive criticism) in this forum about the franchise. As do many others which shares my specific problems with the franchise which eitherway ignores to be adressed despite tremendous amount of effort in a similar context from what i've seen so far. I also seem to recall that my last question which you're not eligible to answer yet (acceptable) despite two weeks away from official release was not an complaint, but question about a a whishful feature not being present in past iterations, not only a whishful feature that i soley want to be implemented but by many others, given the fact that this specific feature are already present in almost every other sport franchises for quite a while. Therefore pinpointing a "problem", not lashing out complaints.Last edited by TGOne; 07-31-2020, 08:58 PM.Comment

Re: AI Logic
Are you really this entitled? Not only does he respond to you after you came off like a jerk, he then gave you a reasonable explanation as to why he didn't initially respond to you and you still can't accept it?
The devs don't have to tell you guys ****, man. That's a fact. They don't have to be here at all and when they are, they aren't required by any means to answer anything asked of them regardless of how any of us feel about it.

Does Ngnannou try to takedown and ground game? Are you sure Ai has improved?Comment

Re: AI Logic
That could just be because Punk is terrible at takedown defense (along with pretty much everything). I don't think it's fair to consider the AI tendencies against someone as anomalously bad as CM Punk. He's such a poor fighter that I could see how he might break the AI.
Also, that one mistake by the AI doesn't necessarily mean the AI hasn't improved. It means it's not perfect.Comment

Re: AI Logic
Okay. but I've never seen him try to takedown and ground game in real life. No matter how weak his opponent is... I think, AI is still not good.Comment

Re: AI Logic
A few things
1) That's not the final version of the game. Several fighters and the AI in general are still in the process of being tuned and most should be done by release.
2) Just because you haven't seen Ngannou do it doesn't mean he can't or won't.

I'm all for being critical of the game especially in the direction it has gone. But I will say that the Devs and some of the GCs have put in an ENORMOUS amount of work to improve the AI. This is by far the best AI in the EA UFC series.Comment
