Re: AI Logic
Ok. So Aydin, Aero and Skynet worked their asses off to expand the AI customizations in UFC 4.
- There are several new specific customizations for fighters (like Masvidal, Cannoier and Ben Askren plus more)
- There are now new and improved generic customizations (multiple different versions of generic types like Brawler and GNP)
- Updated AI assignments for each fighter who doesnt have a specific customization. (Much improved from UFC 3.)
- Here is the big one: In CUSTOM FIGHT NOW, you can assign the AI customization to any fighter. You think we screwed up and Nick Diaz throws too many kicks?.....you can replace his customization with an AI customization that fits him better. Usman doesnt go for enough takedowns....change his customization to Askren.
I wish this feature was accessible in modes like event mode but for the hardcore AI/Universe player, this is a step towards a greater level of realism.Comment

What are the specific customizations for Masvidal and Cannonier?Comment

Re: AI Logic
Way too complicated to walk you through that. So many different factors and we arent able to freely discuss that. Just know that they are tuned to fight how they would fight in real life.Comment

Sounds good and I know you're into realistic AI for a long time so I take your word on that.Comment

Re: AI Logic
There's more to customization than just that, but yes. Since I couldn't get enough support to finish getting CAF AI customization in game, and because we can't/likely won't have roster AI edits any time soon, I did the next best thing I could think of an enabled full on swapping of the default AI.
Ideally, this will also help the community and GC team get a better handle on what tunings work well and which don't, which will help us create more authentic AIs for fighters.Comment

Re: AI Logic
Let's say I'm Nick Diaz and fighting GSP. It would make sense for GSP to use a grappling heavy approach, so I could switch his AI to, let's say, Khabib? There's more to customization than just that, but yes. Re: AI Logic
Yes, you can do exactly that. However, there's also a lot of change that's gone into the AI gameplan vs their opponent, so in that case GSP will actually grapple more than against other opponents already.
This feature is meant for when you find the AI not to your liking after trying it, but I can't stop you from jumping into it right away...Comment

Sounds perfect that the AI adapts the gameplan, so ideally the AI switching won't even be needed.Yes, you can do exactly that. Re: AI Logic
Can we apply these AI logics to our CAFs in the CAF creation process?

Re: AI Logic
Are you involved with only the AI for CAF's? Or do you make decisions when it comes to what caf archetypes we have and things like that?Yes, you can do exactly that. Wondering what went into the decision to limit the CAF's so severely, its ok if you cant answer it or dont want to.Comment

Re: AI Logic
I don't recall if that's part of the CAF customization that get removed, but this was already in CAFs in UFC 3. When you picked the CAF posture....I think? That also assigned the AI to be the same as that fighter. Something like that. Not my area, so I don't recall exactly.Comment

I actually didn't know that was more than just their posture. That's kinda cool. I'll have to keep that in mind.I don't recall if that's part of the CAF customization that get removed, but this was already in CAFs in UFC 3. When you picked the CAF posture....I think? Re: AI Logic
Hey I haven’t played yet but I’ve watched streams of legendary AI play in career. Have to say I’ve been impressed so far, AI looks a lot better and it looks like there are fewer “Perfect sudden spin counters”I don't recall if that's part of the CAF customization that get removed, but this was already in CAFs in UFC 3. Some of those combos you got on the boxer AI look nuts, I’m going to steal a fewComment
