List of removed fighters in EA UFC 4

Re: List of removed fighters in EA UFC 4
Absolutely gutted MW/WW of all the lower level fighters. How lovely. The roster has gotten significantly smaller since UFC 2, while the UFC roster in real life gets much larger.
Wouldn't expect anything less from a company that makes games as terrible as EA does.Comment

Re: List of removed fighters in EA UFC 4
Two of the first five people on that list are retired, one fights in Bare Knuckle FC, and the other two haven't fought in years. Myles Jury is in Bellator, and there's two fictional characters in there too.
I know DJ and Cyborg have survived as "legends" somehow, but how many of these people are actually still signed to UFC?
Just played the CTRL+F game for myself and found 4: Alexandra Albu, Mitch Gagnon, Teruto Ishihara, Chad Laprise. Of all the things to get mad at, we're going to get mad at UFC 4 not including Ruslan Magomedov after he got a lifetime ban from USADA?Last edited by AReifschneider; 08-11-2020, 07:52 PM.Comment

Laprise is retired.
Albu and Ishihara are cut.
Other than Gagnon, everyone on that list is either cut or retired. Still dont know why CM Punk is still in the game.Comment

Re: List of removed fighters in EA UFC 4
I assume the weirder holdover stars like Punk and Cyborg got multi-game deals from EA. The WWE games have had some odd roster mishaps the last few years, and like UFC, the athletes are not in a union to collectively negotiate appearances. Why else would a guy that UFC pushed onto main cards years before he was ready like Greg Hardy not be in their video game?Comment

Re: List of removed fighters in EA UFC 4
There was a guy who was cut from UFC last year that nobody knew was cut until he announced a fight for Bellator. 40% of that roster is such a moving target because UFC doesn't announce every cut.

I have no idea either why Hardy isnt in the game.Comment

Re: List of removed fighters in EA UFC 4
They can still market Cyborg, even after her contract ran out? That's honestly incredible. I guess we can pencil in her Hall of Fame induction lolComment

Re: List of removed fighters in EA UFC 4
LOL. Yep. Technically they can market 99% of former UFC fighters even after they are cut.Comment

Seeing Cro Cop on that list just makes me happier that I decided to pass on the game.Comment

Re: List of removed fighters in EA UFC 4
I get that cuts are cuts they happen. But I just can’t see how EA was okay with losing 25% of their last games roster and saying “well add 17 new fighters and then we’ll just throw fighters we already have into multiple weight classes. That’ll make everyone happy. We can then market it that we have 237 unique fighters, even though there is zero difference in a fighters model or attributes from one weight class to another”. At least in the past when fighters had slots in different weight classes their attributes and perks would differ a bitComment

Re: List of removed fighters in EA UFC 4
And the sad thing is, our demographic is not even that hard to please bro. We are asking for minimal effort on their part. 20 new fighters on top of the ones we already got and at least I would have been content. I’m not asking for a top 20 in every division. But when I can’t even replicate 20% of a real life UFC card that’s a problemComment
