    Patches?

    How often are patches released?

Are they monthly? Do they only occur when something is needed immediately?

I know there is new Fighter patch slated for January; but other than that, is there some sort of roadmap for future patches we can reference?

I still believe this game can be incredible if developers just start looking outside the "competitive online sports aspect" of the game, and more from a "making a well rounded, with all the MMA bells and whistles" this game should have.
(more subs, more positions, more fighters, tweaking current fighters, etc etc)

    *fingers crossed*

    Re: Patches?

They probably almost abandoned it already.

I hope my prediction stays true and that they'll soon release new version of the game. Several inconsistencies that they refuse to fix. Pickup up the game again today to get Wand and ran into yet another bug during career mode.

Just let it go. You converted the game to the "new" engine. Abandon it and make an actually good game.

I couldn't care less about new fighters. You gave us two versions of GSP, but neither is "champ" GSP, who we were used to seeing for years. These "other versions" of fighters are just the same with different outfits. Funny how you just block us from equipping them with outfits and then present an alter as "something new". Disappointing. The fact that you have to shell out 10K coints would be appaling, were it not for the fact that the items in the store are so unattractive that I wouldn't know where else to spend the coins on.

I believe we are going to recieve a new patch this month but... i dont have high hopes, the last patch was a shame, they didn't fix anything just side control, they put that delay making pressure spammers life easier

        Re: Patches?

The UFC team has a long history of supporting the games with a number of patches through one or two years after release, not sure why this would change now.

          Re: Patches?

I'm playing next weeks PPV. I'm in a fight now main card match in the UFC Apex. Christian Leroy Duncan (me) and Abdul Razak Alhassan (cpu).

No walk out. No fighter intros. No fight commentary. Both of my cafs are wearing white trunks.

This is horrible presentation. All the stuff thats missing here is all in the game too, thats whats baffling.

How is any of this an issue anyway? Walkouts and intros haven't changed format. They're exactly the same as they were long before UFC was a twinkle in EA's eye. Why does this development team waste time and resources on "fixing" things that aren't broken, that no one is asking for but leaving blatantly obvious issues on the shelf.

I've been gaming for nearly 40 years. This is the biggest "slap in the face" release i've even seen. From top to bottom, this studio is junk.

That's been their excuse for years, isn't it? That "it's in the game".

Many have mentioned this. Truly terrible presentation this year. A triple A dev should do better. I just got that new boxing game on Steam and though the gameplay is not amazing yet, the presentation is very nice.

There might be one today as the "season" is ending. It's been a month drought of content so it might be an excuse to finally pick up the game again.

Yeah, just saw the spoiler video that Naz posted.

Siiiiiiigh .....STILL more mirco-tweaks that 99.99% of the people who play this game will barely even notice.

My god already ENOUGH with these competitive EA UFC players controlling everything. Go get in a real cage if you want to compete this badly!

Some of us, who DO actually train for a long time would like to see the game expanded on from a "what I can actually do" in the fight perspective.

                    Sorry, I'm just sour. lol

Also, I don't mean to offend anyone else who does actually do this, and how they might want some balance, but I think you know what I'm getting at.

                      Re: Patches?

Ah yes, I also stumbled across some patch spoilers. Well... here's a spoiler: they call this a patch, but it's bug fixes mostly, or things that should've been adressed in beta.

                      • Improved the speed and evasive properties of ducking.
                        • This should reduce the occurrences of strikes unnaturally tracking opponents as they’re ducking.

                      • Fixed a rare unplayable state from cage knockdowns.
                      • Fixed an issue where knees could be caught in the clinch and result in the fighters getting stuck
                      • Increased the influence of the Ground Striking attribute on postured Ground and Pound damage, especially for elbows.
                        • This constitutes an increase in damage for postured ground and pound and rewards fighters who specialize in it. At a max attribute, the change should lead to a buff of 10% for punches and about 23% for elbows, which are riskier. Time to “Smesh!

                      • Removed the effect of Negative Grapple Advantage in the ground game.
                        • Previously, Negative Grapple Advantage would both speed your opponent's transitions up and slow yours down. Now, it will no longer slow you down. This should encourage more activity in the ground game and make it harder for a fighter to hold a position for too long.

                      • Assigned proper stances (orthodox/southpaw) to Sergei Pavlovich, Magomed Ankalaev, and Colby Covington.
                      • Fixed a rare unplayable state during a clinch grappling exchange.

Nice! Thank you for listing those.

I am on board with the visual fixes for sure, towards the end of that list. And I think I know the clinch thing they are speaking of; coming up from turtle and then just freeze clinching. Always thought that was strange.

Getting rid of negative GA is a big game changer tbh.

What is negative GA? Isn't that one of the only things that make standing takedowns a possibility in the game, when someone whiffs?

Or is it like sprawl, where - after some time - the submissive fighter builds up free GA.

I'm asking because EA doesn't bother to explain it anywhere afaik.

Then again, I almost exclusively play sim mode on high levels of AI, so it doesn't really matter.

The idea of Grapple Advantage is when you throw a few shots you build up a speed advantage in your next transition; however negative ga is when the aforementioned happens BUT you (the fighter being struck receives a slow down penalty in your own transition.

                              So it's a double whammy.

Youe opponents transition speeds up, and yours slows down. Making it nearly impossible to have ANY chance whatsoever in defending. Zero..

Removing negative ga simply means your opponent will speed up for the next transition while you simply remain the same speed.
