Yeah, I love playing as Rua with the ground game, but starting as Chuck now (to get the full experience) I love his power too. Single collar tie, uppercuts, rock Rua's world!

I got caught with a guillotine and choked out by Rua when I tried to take him down from a body clinch. It was awesome.

How do you pull rubber guard.

It's just ridiculous how good this demo is. I have had the demo since Monday and it's incredible how each and every fight takes on a life of it's own, no 2 fights ever feel the same. The user videos for this game after release are going to be mind boggling.

I'm at a point to where I consider myself to have mastered the controls and the depth is just unbelievable. Once you learn how to use the L stick click in a controlled fashion while standing the offense and defense really opens up. You'll be able to pull off step strikes at will while bobbing and weaving.

Yeah, step strikes are really key to the stand up in this game. When I first figured out the step strikes I used front kicks and spinning kicks to the body to really Liddell. It got to the point where you could see him grimacing in pain every time I landed one late in the rounds.

Yeah, it is the UFC theme song. Only played had a few fights as Rua. Need to clean up my game and learn the controls.

My best knockout was on advanced with Rua. Chuck came with overhand right and caught him right in the head with a leg kick.

No problem. It's a good song that gets you pumped. The demo is great and I can't wait to fight with the entire roster.

I think I've decided to wait and buy this game with the money I have left at blockbuster. I suck right now because I keep forgetting what buttons to press. I've tried to win with Rua, but my defense is not good enough right now. I haven't won with Rua yet, I usually get TKO'd in round 2.

Man, playing on the second difficulty level.. and I'm getting whooped. :P.

The only time I've won is when I've used Shogun, and I would say I've won like 3/10 times. Once by a unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-25), the other two by brutal KO, although I had to dissect Chuck in order to get it done. Leg kicks FTW on Chuck.

I've done the tutorial, but any tips on the ground? I just want to advance positions (like full gaurd to side), but everytime I try to, I end up doing like a leg lock that fails, and then Chuck mounts me and I'm toast. Or, you know when you try to shoot on Chuck, and he stuffs it? Then he always grabs my back, then mounts me, and I'm toast. I know if you get mounted, then yeah, you're screwed. But it feels like I'm a white belt on the ground no matter what I do.

When I used Chuck, the moment Shogun got in my gaurd, game over.

I played the demo for a few hours and I am in love with all of the deep amount of control you have. I can now perform all the moves even the ones they didn't show in the tutorial and it is pure bliss.

I am gonna play this game till my eyes bleed. It is in the class of NHL 08 and All Pro Football in terms of addiction. Just from the demo I can already see hours of gaming bliss.

If you shoot chuck and he stuffs you and is still over your back, you can pull him into your guard by holding LB and doing a minor transition. ONCE Chuck is in your guard continue to hold LB and do another minor transition to pull rubber guard. I usually do another minor transition to work to Chuck's back then deliver shots and hard knees before doing another minor transition into side control.

Rua is insane on the ground. Pull Chuck into guard (from clinch) and use the rubber guard often.

Re: UFC 2009 Undisputed Demo Impressions

I probably played my buddy last night like 40 times him mostly as chuck. It's a different experience vs. humans.

I like both experiences, I just found that vs. a human, the strengths and weaknesses of each fighter becomes exaggerated. As Rua, I had to minimize aggression once my bud got better and better at playing. Lay and pray w/ a bit of ground and pound became a legit tactic and I one a few decisions out of necessity - trading w/ chuck ended almost everytime in a ko with me being ko'd. It obviously would vary depending on who you're fighting not just the fighter, but the gamer - but Rua vs Chuck w/ skilled gamers means that Rua will win by submission or decision 90% of the time and will very rarely get a ko or tko. My friend never got good enough w/ Rua to force a decision, so I'm not sure how the scores would have been had that happened.

People who want to use lay and pray as a strategy - it's a viable option for sure.

Anyway, this might be the first sports game that I really care about for online - I'm pretty sure I'll really enjoy the single player career, but I'll double dip w/ our OS leagues and probably randoms as well.

The game's already an instant classic in my eyes, it's just so polished.
