More power to him for pursuing his dreams, but c'mon... lol

I am serious. I also know he had an at least decent amateur wrestling career. "Maynard had a record of 35 wins 16 losses as a high school wrestler."

I know that he is at a pretty bad disadvantage as an MMA fighter, but he does have a background as a wrestler and a pretty successful one at that.

If you would do some research before counting someone out, you might not put yourself at such a disadvantage. Am I saying that he could be a great fighter? No, but I am also not saying he could never win a fight either.

I don't care how many high school wrestling matches he won, he needs to stay out of MMA. I'm not trying to **** on the dude or anything like that, but he doesn't belong in the cage.

        Exactly.

It's great that he did well in wrestling, but wrestling isn't MMA.

The second he fights anyone not scared to look like an *** for beating up a handicapped person, he'll get the living **** beaten out of him.

He simply could not defend himself properly against strikes. Great that he can wrestle, but wrestling doesn't including people pounding at your face while your rolling around, MMA does. He's too limited to be effective in any way what so ever; he tries striking and his range is way too short, and he can't actually reach anywhere that matters... He tries wrestling (if he can get them to that position), and he can't defend himself against strikes because his arms are simply too small.

This guy fighting in MMA is lose/lose. Either he fights someone who's too scared to really fight back because of the handicapped thing, or he fights someone who doesn't give a crap, and he's beaten to a bloody pulp and the whole organization looks like a bunch of jerks.

No one wins with him fighting.

If he wants to keep going, let him. If he ever gets anyone into his wrestling and submission areas, I hear he is pretty good.
          NO!

the only people he should be fighting are other amputees. In fact that wrestling vid you posted, he is wrestling another amputee - you can see both prosthetics on each leg.

anyone on this forum could kick that guys arse. what on earth could he possibly do?

Why does he insist on fighting non-handicaped people? the are opportunities for amputee's to compete against each other - that's the only way this should go on at all.

Should the nba give someone like that a chance to play in the league?
