    Interesting.

But my father said, 'It's not like that; go there and believe in our art.' I did what he said and knocked him out in the second round."
Lmao. Machida is straight up out of a movie. I can picture his father saying, "believe in our art son." If he was fighting anybody else I'd be pulling for him.

"He is a excellent wrestler," says Machida. "Tito Ortiz tried to take him down, but he couldn't. I'm not going to lose energy trying. He is also a good striker -- very cold and strategic. That became clear during his last fight when Forrest [Griffin] was beating him up and he suddenly turned the fight in his favor. Certainly, he is studying a way to not get into my game, but my father, brother and I, we are also studying a way to bring him into my game. All I can say is that the fans can expect a great fight.""
Love the respect he has for Shads style. I can't wait for this fight.

This may be a stupid question, but...

I'm just getting into UFC and want to watch my first PPV fight. I'm going to try and get about 10 of my friends to join me and chip in for the price and food. I know there's always a possibility for the fights to be boring but it It would suck to have them all suck.

I guess my question is if this would be a good event for newcomers. The card looks pretty good and exciting, but I've only gotten into it recently, so what do I know?

                Don't hurt me.

Is it? Looks like one of the weaker ones of the year to me.

Wait for 100 if you want an almost sure thing to get them into it but this one should be decent enough.

                        Yeah 100 is crazy stacked.

99 might lack a title fight but if features 5 really sweet match ups that a new fan is sure to enjoy.

That looks exactly like a scene out of Bloodsport (when they do the training montage); hell his dad even looks exactly like his Shidoshi.

you have to jump in at some point. It's not like you're risking anything. 10 guys, at most it's like 20 each w/ food and beer, or if people bring their own it's like 5 bucks a pop. If you wait until UFC 100 that's waiting until july 11. Just get in the groove now and it will make future ones better. what would you guys be doing instead?
