Re: UFC 98: Evans vs. Machida
let's take it easy on the whole machida being unbeatable talk. Also why are people wanting Silva to fight him? Silva needs to have some good fights first in his own division, plus if gsp beats alves, he could beat his ***. I know my opinion isn't popular but whatever.
Rashad is still going to dominate a bunch of people. Ramp's got less of a chance imo, but he could still knock machida the hell out.
All I ask is we have a lhw champ have the belt for more than one fight before we all chant and say he's superhuman.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: UFC 98: Evans vs. Machida
No and no.
Rashad has just as much power as Rampage, is faster, and is just as precise with his punching and he couldn't get hardly anywhere near Machida.
Rampage does have a shot because he's more the brawling type...it's a slim one though IMO. I think the only way he wins is if he gets Machida down and GnP's him.
Can't call me biased either, Rampage is my fav. fighter...just being realistic.
Evans is faster. That's it. Power wise and precision wise, Rampage is stronger and has better precision. Rampage's boxing is excellent. He is a better counter puncher and he has better punching technique. On top of that his chin is ridiculous. More so then Evans. I think he has a better chance of beating Lyoto. He is slower but him and Lyoto will exchange some strikes at some point and when that happens anything can happen.Comment

I'd say he could be the clear number four, though.Comment

Re: UFC 98: Evans vs. Machida
I was somewhat skeptical of Machida coming into this fight but he and his style have silenced me and everyone else that wanted to question him.
That was one of the best performances in a long time against an undefeated, elite fighter.
He's not unbeatable because no one is but right now, he's as close to that as anyone in MMA IMO.Patrick Mahomes > GodComment

Tough night for Pappy. Hang in there, bro, your boys will bounce back. Plus, you can always take out your frustrations on scrubs online in Unleashed.
As for who could take out Machida, man that is the million-dollar question. Right now, no one stands out but out of all the LHW contenders, I think Shogun has the best shot. He's obviously skilled on the ground and has great Muay Thai; he could keep distance with his kicks and has the potential of doing damage in the clinch if he gets it locked in.
Of course, Machida is damn strong and it's hard to say if Shogun could even get a chance to get that close to Machida. He'd have to land a head kick or stiff body kick to set it up.
I marvel at watching Machida. The guy does things most only dream about when it comes to the fight game.Currently Playing:

Re: UFC 98: Evans vs. Machida
Are you telling me that you truly think Rashad Evans is a better boxer then Rampage Jackson?
Evans is faster. That's it. Power wise and precision wise, Rampage is stronger and has better precision. Rampage's boxing is excellent. He is a better counter puncher and he has better punching technique. On top of that his chin is ridiculous. More so then Evans. I think he has a better chance of beating Lyoto. I just see Ramp getting impatient, making mistakes and Machida is going to leg kick the shot out of him. I dont think Machida will KO him but I think he will win.Comment

If he's slower than Rashad, Machida will beat him to the punch in every exchange...Rashad who's quicker got one or two punches in, Rampage would be lucky to get that IMO.
Again the only way he wins if he GnP's him after somehow getting him down.
He has a shot but it would take Machida being off on his game or a lucky punch to KO him...Rashad had the better chance and he couldn't do a thing with Machida.Patrick Mahomes > GodComment

Re: UFC 98: Evans vs. Machida
I'm not sure Evans chin has ever really been tested to a great degree. His fight with Tito was mostly a wrestling match, if I recall. Against Liddell, he was pretty elusive before getting the KO. And against Griffin, the damage done to him was mostly from leg kicks.Comment

Re: UFC 98: Evans vs. Machida
Why isn't he?
Never lost a fight...never lost a round for that matter...completely dominated everyone he's fought and is now the best fighter in his division.
I think you could make a very compelling argument for him being in the Top 3.Patrick Mahomes > GodComment
