Damn what a card and timmay its too soon for that avatar lol and lol zb9 that last gif is so jokes.

the outcome is what i expected, and i must say no one is going to stop machida. the only person who has any chance at beating him is me i can't see anyone else competing with him.

And keep in mind, he was also the ref in the inexcusable Pete Sell/Matt Brown fight not long ago. He stopped that fight briefly before telling Brown to continue on, and then let that fight go on forever as Brown was wailing on Sell, even imploring Lavigne to stop the fight at one point.

Not a good run for Yves. Can't imagine any fighter at this point being comfortable with him in the cage.
Yeah, that was weird last night, but makes sense now...he was getting booed and had a funny smile when he registered it....

I just watched the Nover fight and that was horrible, you gotta let that go a bit.

Now that's a LHW champ I can get behind. I love how Shad was humble in defeat. That could not have happened to a more deserving fighter. Instant karma is going to get you in the end. Now I'd like to see Rashad come back with some humility and knock the cocky crap off. He's got a lot of talent to work with but his personality when he wins leaves a lot to be desired. Timmay, that is an awesome avatar. And whoever posted that gif, that's classic stuff.

And he already has fought someone like that - Thiago Silva. He murdered him.
LOL I ask myself the same thing when I read all of these "what's going to happen when he gets hit" posts everywhere.

The point is not to get hit, and Machida refuses to be.. can't hit a ghost!

he's doesn't get hit because he is not a man. It's supposed to be mano to mano, pound each other in the face and see who gets knoced out first.

Re: UFC 98: Evans vs. Machida

After watching the fight again and thinking about it, the telling sign for me was that about a minute and a half into the fight Rashad had no clue as to do to do next. He looked totally lost and didn't know how to attack or even how to try to get close to Machida...crazy.

I'm shocked he didn't try to take it to the ground when they were clinched, figured he would.

I guess about the only question left for Machida is how he would work off of his back if someone did get him down...having said that, I have a tough time envisioning anyone taking him down.

I would hate be the person in charge of developing a strategy to beat him...got me stumped.

Everybody has declare machida the golden child after this fight and rightful so but until he gets take a real hit,i am going to doubt him.Yes his great speed and evasion ability is what is keep him from taking that big hit.

I am waiting for to go against rampage, griffin, wanderlei somebody good power who does not care about being hit.
i watched the last 45 seconds several times and i really don't think that's what Rashad was doing. I initially thought that too but I think he was just already half knocked out. The only time he was a bit showboating was early in the fight when he got caught by a kick early and he did that hip roll circular motion move. After that I think Evans knew he was in trouble......

just an absolutely dominating performance . I hope Evans bounces back from this, he really showed heart trying to stand in the last 20 secs of that fight. It kinda sucked how he didn't get much respect being the champ. I hope he gets some big wins now in the future to at least build his name up and work on being the LHW champ again.

It was really sad to see how he got KTFO and how immensely humbled he was after the whole thing.

Just thought I'd mention that because people will still be asking what happens when he gets hit hard. We saw that, all that's left is what happens when he's rocked.

What's his next fight? Does Rampage still fight Rashad next anyway?
5 ? I think Rashad landed 2 power punches in the counter flurry right on Machida's Jaw. One was flush on and the second wasn't 100 percent because machida was already moving backwards but it was still rock hard and accurate from Evans. But the 1st counter punch was hard and on point. Machida didn't budge.

Machida has a sick ground game for anyone saying "what would happen if he was taken down". Dude is a Black Belt BJJ and trains with A. Silva. Add some Sumo skills in and this guy is going to be tough to beat.

I know he does...that's why it would be interesting to see if one of his fights did go to the ground, to see his skills there.

Tito was able to give him some fits late in the fight when it went to the ground, you gotta think that's where other fighters might like their chances.

Again though, I can't see too many fighters taking him down so it may be a moot point to begin with.

Re: UFC 98: Evans vs. Machida

Loved the card. Hughes fight was judged correctly. People that hate him don't like it, but it was a win for Hughes. Really glad Evans got dominated. I don't understand the Evans fans that call Hughes cocky. I guess they think I'm strange for calling Evans cocky too.

I really don't like P4P lists, but heres mine:

                        1. Silva (Fights in more than one weight class and dominates his opponents)

                        2. GSP (I don't like him, but his division has excellent depth and he has pretty much run out of competition. He should try to move up to middleweight)

                        3. Fedor (I like Fedor. His calm calculated approach to murdering people gives me chills every time. Weak division is why he is at 3)

                        4. Machida (Last night says it all. He has fought good competition and clearly won each time. You don't have to KO people to be dominant.)

                        5. Penn (This spot could go to a few others, but I'm still putting BJ here)

After the top 3 I can't say the others are close, at least at this point.
