8. Jose Aldo
7. BJ Penn
6. Randy Couture
5. Chuck Liddell
4. Matt Hughes
3. Georges St. Pierre

Re: OS MMA Random Thread
Interesting that Tito isn't on that list although I'm not sure who I'd bump for him.

Re: OS MMA Random Thread
He's the most dominate 125er ever but 125 has never been really deep. His biggest win is over Benevidez the 2nd time which is a great win but doesnt alone make him a top 10er.
His 135 career was decent but he lost to Pickett and Cruz and I'd argue he lost to Torres too (The Torres decision was a travesty imo).
This doesnt mean MM isnt a great fighter. In fact, he's in my top 15 but dominating a weak division doesnt get him in the top 10 imo.Comment

Re: OS MMA Random Thread
Tito belongs on that list, Mighty Mouse does not. Tito dominated his division for 4 years and really was the face of UFC during that time period along with Chuck and Randy.Comment

Re: OS MMA Random Thread
Mighty Mouse hasn't lost in a long time, and is always evolving his game and getting better. Many fighters on the list absolutely did not evolve and improve. They might have been the best in there era, but not all time.
Almost every fighter on that list has loses throwout their career. Some of those fighters might have been popular, but it's not a popularity contest, it's about skill.Comment

Re: OS MMA Random Thread
Well, it didn't say most skilled fighters, it said greatest. I feel like if you're the best of an Era, then that automatically makes you qualified to be one of the best.

MM is hurt because of the competition he has. If he moves up to 135 and gets the belt, you put him in the top half of the list. If he stays at 125, he stays talented, but doesn't face top competition and is relatively unknown/popular.

If you put MM on there, you have to put Ronda on there.

Maybe you do, I certainly don't, and wouldn't, lol. The way I see a greatest list is all time P4P list. Mighty Mouse would be in my top 5. I am very impressed with his title reign competition. Well most of it, but you can see that about most champions.
Benavidez, Ali Bagautinov on EPO, Horiguchi and Dodson are all extremely good competition in my opinion.
Part of my issue is probably a lot of those fighters declined in the later parts of the careers. When I'm making a list I only see a few people that can compete with MM p4p even in their prime.Comment

Re: OS MMA Random Thread
Everyone declines, eventually. Everyone. MM will decline as well.
