Re: OS MMA Random Thread
I can't believe Nike fired Jon Jones, but yet they didn't fire Hope Solo for domestic violence.
You left out Jones has to do 40 hours of community service in Las Vegas, where as DC gets to do his community service in San Jose.
Also Wanderla Silva was fined $70K and a life time ban in Nevada.Comment

Re: OS MMA Random Thread
What happened to Jones?
Oh nevermind this is for the little dust up they had. Yeah, Nike firing Jones for only that is really strange. It is the fight game after all.Last edited by LingeringRegime; 09-23-2014, 04:23 PM.Comment

Re: OS MMA Random Thread
The fact that Anthony Johnson is getting suspended is pathetic. I guarantee they have known about this and are suspending him just because of the Ray Rice incident with the NFL.
What he's being punished for was in '09 and he's already done his legal punishment.. Ridiculous.

Re: OS MMA Random Thread
The UFC needs to just start testing all fighters under contract every other week. Stop random testing and say if you want to fight, you will be clean or have to work real hard to hide it.

Re: OS MMA Random Thread
What you are talking about is sending drug testers bi-weekly to Japan, Canada, Thailand, S. Korea, Brazil, UK, Sweden, China and tens of others countries. Also no other sport tests that often. At most its done quarterly.
I actually think the drug testing is improving by leaps and bounds. They are testing for HGH now. There will be random tests starting in 2015 for all UFC fighters.Comment

Re: OS MMA Random Thread
Le's case is one of the more obvious in recent memory. It's hard for me to believe that this stuff isn't happening all over the place in every sport out there, but I hope I am wrong."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: OS MMA Random Thread
Yeah I know it's too costly to do, but they could do something with the gyms out there. Where if a fighter fails, the gym also gets fined. UFC could pay them for some testing and it would make the gyms enforce it if they want money from UFC.

UFC upgraded Cung Le's suspension to a full year. They say the 9 months was an error.Comment
