The reason why he WOULDN'T think they're cheap. Leg kicks are no joke. Funny hearing someone say they're cheap.

        Re: UFC 100

I see what he's saying about leg kicks being easier to land than other strikes and therefore could be seen as "cheap" when you're just trying to influence hit counts. You can tag someone with 20 quick front leg kicks and they're just fine, but if you look at the strike totals, they'll look the same as big power hooks, head kicks, or anything else. Clearly they're a big part of strategy and can absolutely cripple someone as well, but if you looked at the totals for the Belcher-Akiyama fight without the context that fightmetrics provides, you might think that Belcher won the striking handily due to the high % of the leg kicks and the sheer number of landed strikes.

But yeah, if he's saying that they aren't a legit part of MMA or are "cheap" in terms of actual fight strategy, I don't know what to say to that. If you can kick someone in the leg hard enough that they struggle to walk, then that's an advantage you should use... Griffin-Rampage was a great example of that.

Heh, that superman punch off the cage was cool... he tagged him with it pretty good too.

Well there ya go. Rampage punches people in the face and Forrest used leg kicks to beat him. See if the guy doing the legs kicks did it right the guy trying to punch him the face wouldn't be able to hit him, even if he did it probably wouldn't be hard because he'd be kept at distance, eventually end up limping and having an even harder time closing the distance. This isn't even a strike % thing in this case because they actually did damage.

In other news apprently 1.5 mil PPV buys and it led off Around the Horn and was 2nd on PTI.

I heard that number on both shows, but I haven't been able to find anything on the internet about it. I'm thinking they might have been running with some speculation.

I hope those numbers are true, though.

Nice view of Brock getting in Mir's face after he pounded it in.

He won't have a chance to fight him, considering Cain will dominate Shane come 104.

he's the only pro-fighter in the world that I can think of that at least compares in muscle strength to brock. So if he can avoid being pinned, he has a chance... He suffers a huge reach disadvantage and a speed defecit. But I think he's got a much better chance than cain, and he's the only one in the UFC who I think matches up in a realistic way. Carwin is extremely strong, and I heard his hands are even bigger than brock's!!!

Odds go to Brock, but Shane has at least a chance.

I don't see how that is possible. They said Brock is the first and only guy they have ever had to make custom gloves for. The man wears a 4XL size glove.

yeah...they mentioned it during his last fight i believe in the promo vids and such. I'll google it, but I'm fairly certain that I heard Joe Rogan mention his hands are slightly bigger.
