I dont think Guida is getting the next shot. It will be either Diego or Gray Maynard. I also think Diego/ Maynard have a shot at beating BJ.

Diego is getting the next shot, but I don't see him winning. I think it will be a solid fight, but Penn has every advantage except that of wrestling, and I really don't think it's solid enough to take BJ down and hold him there for 5 rounds while avoiding submissions.

I don't think Guida's an elite fighter, but I think he'd have a good shot against Penn. The worst style for Penn is a good wrestler with great cardio who can defend submissions. Guida is pretty much a poor man's version of that style. And Guida would be even more dangerous because there would be so many people saying he's not on Penn's level, I could easily see Penn taking his training a little too lightly, which would only exacerbate the difference in cardio between the two.

In a three round fight, Guida doesn't have a good chance. But in a five round fight, that's a different story. He certainly wouldn't be favored to win, but he has the style needed to pull off the upset.

and cardio, which is a huge factor. The difference in cardio could range from 'notable' to 'tremendous' depending on which Penn shows up, and that makes a big difference.

Diego would also almost certainly be the bigger, stronger fighter.

Granted, in terms of fighting skills, Penn is certainly ahead of Diego. But Penn doesn't really lose fights or get tested because of fighting skills. It's almost always because the physical differences, combined with the right style, and Diego has both of those.

After watching the Diego/Guida fight, which was probably the fight of the year so far, i think Diego has the tools to upset BJ. I can see BJ gassing

Pretty much the only way Diego (or Guida or Maynard) would be able to stop Penn is by decision. I just have trouble seeing either one of them stealing 3 rounds from Penn while still avoiding being finished.

He had a lot of cardio issues at 155 earlier in his career.

He hasn't had any issues at 155 lately because no one's pushed a pace against him. The one guy who could, Sherk, decided he wanted to prove how ineffective boxing with a short reach was.

I think that Penn vs. Diego will be an exciting fight. I'm a fan of both fighters and can't wait to see the fight. I like watching the lighter weight fights cause they are usually more fast paced.

In the bar, the general sentiment of the Silva-Griffin fight was, "is that real." many people were questioning the validity of the fight being as though silva hit him with a jab, while backpeddling, with no momentum.

he was already rocked when that happened. Besides, Silva has KO'd several with punches like that. That is one of the amazing things about him to me.

hes got a good chin and good cardio but skill wise hes got nothing other than some decent wrestling, unless you consider laying in someones guard and throwing sporadic punches that dont connect skillful

He's not a tough fight for Gray Maynard. Gray would destroy him standing and toss him around like a rag doll if Clay tried to take him down.
