Wow. Bowles even got rocked pretty badly, but still came back and just clocked Torres right in the jaw. I don't know what took Rosenthal so long to stop the fight though. Bowles got in 3-4 more shots after Torres was out.

I was thinking the same thing. He was clearly out cold there on the ground and he just stood there and watched him 3 or 4 more shots before finally jumping in.

What I managed to see of it was entertaining. I'm not sure how much I missed overall,it was in the middle of 2nd round of Garcia/Massouh by the time I found it to watch. Don't think I missed much.

Changing of the guard in WEC, finally. Because I really got tired of Faber & Torres as the champs for YEARS.

                Re: WEC 42

Damn, really wish I would have seen this fight before I read about the results, but me and a buddy just got sidetracked with some other stuff. We've got it recorded on DVR, but we just totally forgot to watch it. Oh well.

Ended up catching it online after I got home. Great fight. Happy that Bowles won, also.

I hope Zuffa merges the WEC into the UFC. I'd really love for guys like Bowles/Brown/Torres/Faber to get more exposure and bigger paydays. Even if it just meant putting on the same sort of card as WEC 42, and just doing it as a UFC Fight Night on free TV. The only thing I wonder about is the TV deals. I imagine Zuffa owes some WEC events to Versus, and I'd imagine that Versus would be very ok with getting some UFC Fight Nights instead, but I wonder how that'd fly with Spike TV, considering they have exclusive cable rights to the UFC. Probably not a problem a little more money couldn't solve.

Oh, and the bottom line on ESPN2 right has been saying that Torres beat Bowles by first-round TKO. I saw that first when I got home, and it totally confused me when I first read about Bowles getting the win. Come on ESPN, I'm not expecting much from you, getting the fighters right shouldn't be too tough. Especially when one dude's a hispanic with a mullet names Miguel Torres and the other guy's a white guy with a white guy hair cut and a white guy name like Brian Bowles. Not exactly tough to tell apart.

I saw 2 extra shots. I think in a fight like this you have to be sure and I didn't see Miguel go stiff until Bowles landed the first of those 3 lefts at end. I'd rather see a guy take 2 extra shots than 2 too few.

yeah mirgliotta again tried to up his ante vs Mazzagatti for worst referee in MMA with the early stop he had at 101 and missing numerous shots to the back of the head that led to the "stoppage".

Yeah. I DVR'd it and just got done watching it. Last time I watched it live and DVR'd it, then went back to watch Brown-Faber II again and I only got the first round and a half. I knew better this time and set the recorder for an hour after the scheduled time.

                      Good show.

I hope to hell Dana keeps WEC on Vs. I've heard he wants to move it to PPV. I don't know how that would be in terms of making money, but I love watching the WEC events on cable. I think, with the growth of Vs., Dana might be better suited to keep it there, advertise UFC hard during the broadcasts (maybe structure it better so that WEC is a week before a UFC PPV), and hope to gain some more casual MMA fans that might turn into UFC fans.

All in all, WEC is quality stuff. It's almost more fun than UFC because they're all so small and quick, and the pace is so insane in some fights.

Comcast's DVR is nice in that it will prompt me when I set a recording for sporting events asking me if I want to record some time after the event is scheduled to end, just in case. The default is an extra 30 minutes.

I enjoyed watching this card last night, always good to watch some young and up and comers fight. I'll have to keep tuning into more events.

Frank Mir was on suicide watch after the event. First Forrest, then Curran and Torres. It wasn't a good weekend for Frank.
