Fedor, Gegard, and Babulu in EA MMA game

This is coming from the Fedor press conference. Right now Jerry Millen is speaking. I'm following it at Michael David Smith's Twitter page.

Well, I guess Fedor isn't going to the UFC then.

This can't be good. Prett much means Fedor and Gegard will never be in the UFC. Gegard is young too.

Man - Fedor is surrounded by idiots. He needs to man up, dump their asses, and go talk with Dana one on one already and go with his heart, instead of listening to these numbnuts.

Fedor's guys are prolly marching to their own beat.

Fedor: My greatest desire is to fight in the UFC against the best in the world to prove to everybody what my true abilities are. I look forward to signing a deal with Dana White in the near future.

Translator: Fedor has full committment to M-1 global and wants a super arena built in the middle of Siberia to spread the sport. Dana White is a douche and does not deserve to be in Mr. Emelianenko's presence.

Re: Fedor, Gegard, and Babulu in EA MMA game

Seriously... he'll just be treading water in Strikeforce, getting older and older. What kind of legacy will he have if he never fought the UFC's best? Nog, Arlovski, and those guys are all nice notches in his belt, but until he comes to the UFC and takes the title, there's basically an asterisk on his career. Being in EA's MMA game is probably a good deal for him financially (I'm sure he'll get a nice check from them, unlike the UFC game), but if Dana is sticking with his word about not signing EA game participants, Fedor is an idiot for signing with them just for some cash/exposure.

But yeah, I think Dana would make an exception for Fedor if it came down to it. But that is just another thing added to the list of things holding up a possible deal... mainly Fedor's M-1 affiliation though.

                For Fedor, he would.

Not for Babalu or Mousasi, though.

Especially because the EA contracts are only 1 yr/game deals. Thats what King Mo signed and what Couture signed. Dana's biggest worry was signing these guys and having EA issue a press release saying "You can only use the UFC's heavyweight champion in EA MMA". With a one year deal thats less of a worry.

dumb stubborn move on Fedor's part.

it's not just his 'handlers' he's a grown man who can make decisions and knows what's going on around him. This isn't Tyson we're talking about.

                    what a stupid move.

I don't see why there is so much hate on fedor, why would he sign with a company owned by a man who talked so much crap about him.I give fedor props for being a man and not lowering himself to work for a guy like white.Whoever his "handlers" are i guarantee they are getting him paid with deals like this ea deal.

LOL...if you think the reason Fedor isnt signing with the UFC is because Dana talked **** about him....I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. The only issues are exclusivity and his handlers (M1 Global) wanting copromotion rights. If Dana would give in about the copromotion Fedor would have been standing on that stage hand in hand with Fedor.

This is such backwards thinking, but we've already been down this road before.

The UFC does not need Fedor nor does the UFC need him. Fedor has nothing to prove to anyone. He's the #1 HW of all-time, he's fought top HWs and remained unbeaten over a decade and not signing to the UFC does not put an asterisk around his legacy or call any of that into question to any MMA fan worth their salt.

Despite what people think, the UFC's best HWs really aren't levels above other organizations' HW aside from maybe Lesnar in terms of talent, so it's not like the only worthwhile fights for him are in the UFC alone. The money is bigger in the UFC, sure, but it's not guaranteed - which is what he's looking for.

I have a big problem with that part of your statement. I guess I'm not worth my salt because I seriously question the last 3 years of Fedor's career. I said it in another thread and I'll say it here: I'm not impressed with Fedor's victories over Lindland (who has no impressive victories IMO), Sylvia (who proved he shouldn't be fighting anymore with his display against Mercer), Arlovski (who gets knocked out by Brett Rogers whose only notable victory is over Arlovski), and Hong Man Choi (a guy only in the sport because of his freakish size who has no skills whatsoever.) I guess it makes me less of a knowledgeable fan because I don't ride Fedor's jock still for things he did over 3 years ago. I'm not trying to say he sucks or anything but IMO if he wants to stay the best he has to do more than beat those 4 chumps.

I don't care if you question his last four wins, but I am bothered by the growing opinion that Fedor's otherwise illustrious career will only be validated if he steps into the UFC. If that is your opinion, then please take what I said however you like. If you read into it like that, then that's on you.

And let's not act like Brett Rogers is some can. He's a Top 10 HW.
