You're gonna kill me, but honestly, not really. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't lucky, but there's reasons that boxing trainers don't teach their guys to throw big lunging bombs. They're easy to dodge, they expend a lot of energy, and they often leave the fighter out of position to be countered. Fortunately for Fedor, he fought a guy that wasn't a good technical striker, a guy that stood there flat-footed with his hands down, chin up, and without the ability to react quick enough to dodge it.
It was a spectacular KO no doubt, but it wasn't really an impressive punch.
You could say the same thing about Hendo's KO of Bisping, too, but that Fedor punch was like Hendo's, but a lot more. I mean, Fedor nearly fell over from throwing it.
I'd actually be interested in seeing Fedor and Anderson fight. Fedor's giant bombs against Anderson's quickness, precision, and variety. It'd be an interesting fight if it stayed on the feet, at least.
