I agree and disagree. Comparing Mir to Fedor is a stretch. However I agree that Brock would more than likely exploit Fedor's size and lack of defense.

Are you sure about the first statement? Hehe. Seriously though IMO he would destroy Mir, would be a slight favorite against Cain/Carwin and then IMO would not be able to defeat Lesnar.

Fedor's a great fighter, and I'd definitely say he's the most talented overall HW in the world... Problem is that while Brock isn't nearly as well rounded, his wrestling is about as good as it gets - and when you combine that with his size and strength... He can pin just about anyone down indefinitely and just hammer down on them.

I don't see how Fedor could get up after being taken down by Brock - and I don't see Brock putting himself in a position to get submitted either.

The only chance I think Fedor would have is standing up: rocking Brock before he can get it to the ground. Once it's down - it's pretty much game over.
Yep. This is about what I feel on that scenario.

There's a lot of hate for Fedor, more hate than "blind love" in this thread and here at OS in general.

You have to remember that this was his first time officially fighting in a cage.

Overrated? I can't wrap my mind around how you would come to that conclusion unless you believe only what Fedor lover's spew.

Fedor is undoubtedly the most skilled HW in the world. IMO there's only one guy who would beat him.

His skills are not overrated but perhaps mystique is. Still though, when I can claim that there's really only one guy I see beating him, that's saying a lot.

I totally agree with this. I think Mir would have much less of a chance than Rogers did, and I'd be surprised if a Mir/Fedor fight ended in any way other than Mir's total destruction. It might even be worse than Mir's motorcycle accident.

If Fedor keeps it standing he'll win the fight but if Brock takes to the ground I can not see how Fedor submits a man with the strength and size of Brock.

It pisses me when "Fedor fans" make Fedor seem like he's the ****ing god of MMA who can not be defeated. I'm a fan Fedor but stop putting him on a damn pedestal, he can be beaten. Anyways pretty decent card, the Mousasi fight was alright, as expected the Shields-Miller fight was FOTN. Rogers looked scared ****less in the fight, for a second I thought he had Fedor when they were on the ground in the 1st. But it looked Fedor had that Tyson factor going and Rogers was just too scared. So it looks like Werdum is the next fight for Fedor.
i agree with this, but befopre that they need to strip overroid of his title and make the fight for the strikeforce heavyweight championship.

There is no doubt that Fedor is legit. IMO i think Silva and GSP are better because they have fought better competition.

IMO Werdum doesn't belong anywhere near a championship

I agree...Fedor's damn good, I just want to see him against more talented competition, something we won't see ever as long as he continues to dodge the real fights in the UFC

I'm very new to MMA, but really enjoyed last night's event. I thought it brought some great fights and a feeling that you can still see good stuff without having to do a PPV.

I wonder if Fedor's next fights will go against Werdum and then assuming he beats him, rematch with Rogers. I still don't think Rogers deserves a rematch so early but its not like there is anyone else that will stack up against Fedor.

How many fights did Fedor sign for again? 5?

Oh. I thought it was a couple more than that. Hopefully Fedor/M1 is just using this as a way of getting Fedor into the spotlight and then come to their senses and go to the UFC. I want to see Brock/Fedor.

                          2) Yeah, I said Fedor doesn't have knockout power. I didn't mean that he is physically incapable of ever knocking someone out under any circumstances. If any 230 pound man in the world throws all his weight behind a punch and hits someone square on the button, they're gonna knock that guy out.

But Fedor doesn't have knockout power in the sense he can only really knock guys out when he catches them absolutely perfectly with a crazy power shot like that. He doesn't have nearly the power of someone like Liddell who can knock someone out moving backwards or someone like Anderson Silva who can knock someone out with quick straight punches or someone like Junior dos Santos who can knock someone out by clubbing them upside the head.

On a scale of 1-10, his power is probably around a 5. So yeah, I said he doesn't have knockout power, hoping that people reading would understand that I was speaking relatively so I didn't have to spend three freaking paragraphs explaining how I didn't actually think that Fedor was incapable of ever knocking anyone out.

                          3) And how am I a Fedor ***** when I explicitly said that I have him ranked as the third best pound-for-pound fighter in the world? Is that what passes as 'hating' in Fedor-land? Come on.
You say "he beat this guy and this guy and this guy, but lost to this guy, therefore, he's this good." It's credible, but you just put too much weight into it.

Your argument for his power may be true, may not be. It doesn't matter. Ok, his power is at a 5, but when he throws them as hard as he can with all his weight it's a 10. Santos' is at a 10, but he doesn't throw them with 100% much because he would tire fast. Fedor throws those 100% punches more than anyone. He can because he can afford it, his cardio is top notch for HW.

You don't hate Fedor. I said I would label you in that group. Your a reasonable guy who ranks him in the top 3. If you didn't, you wouldn't be taken seriously. I'd have him tied with Silva for 1.

Would you say that was an impressive punch, though? He didn't get lucky. His accuracy is elite. I'd say more impressive than Silva because of the amount of effort he puts behind it.

Last night's Rogers/Fedor fight was so sick it gave me H1N1. I thought Fedor was going to lose when Rogers was doing GaP but Fedor caught him with a devasting punch in the 2nd round. I thought Rogers was a sore loser. He never even congratulated Fedor after the match. I know Rogers wants a rematch but he doesn't deserve one.

WTF was up with Miller's entrance? He should have come out to Jesus Walks by Kayne West to really put it over the top.

GSP is #1 to me,78% of his oppoents have winning records compared to Fedor's 62%,Silva's 64% and Machida with 61%. I believe that's what it was. I worked that out a while ago when Fedor was still a FA and there was a P4P discussion. They've all fought since then but all fought against guys with winning records so it wouldn't have changed anything significant. Brock is gonna end up at 99%.

I think that ship has sailed. Fedor's stock was at an all-time high when Affliction went under and the deal was made with Strikeforce. I will be very surprised if Fedor ever fights in UFC after that.
