    Re: The Bellator Thread

He's always been more exciting than good. His wrestling is ok but any good wrestler will out-wrestle him. His stand up has always been sloppy and he lacks the KO power to make up for it. The UFC just fed him nothing but scrubs for his first 5 fights.

Apparently Bellator wants a fight between their LW champion Eddie Alvarez and Strikeforce LW champion Gilbert Melendez.

Bellator has been very vocal about making the fight happen (which both fighters have already stated they would be interested in doing), to the point where they pretty much are calling out Scott Coker and Strikeforce.

During Thursday night's Bellator 20 show on Fox Sports Net, Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney challenged Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker to book the fight.

"I said it last week, I would love to see that fight happen," Rebney said. "I'd love to see it as a CEO, I'd love to see it as a fan. Gilbert asked for that fight. Eddie responded, just across the board, 'Yes, yes, yes.' For nine days we've been trying to reach Scott Coker -- who heads up Strikeforce -- a couple of times a day. We've yet to get a response. I remain eternally optimistic."
MMA needs this fight, it would be great for the fans. Let UFC be the #1 organization in the world as long as the other organizations can co-promote on big time fights and cards.

The Curran/Imada decision was robbery. I cannot see how anyone thought Curran won that fight.

Yeah that was a disappointing way to end the lightweight tournament.

Askren/Hornbuckle fight was great. Just an amazing performance from Askren, he could be a top contender in a few years.

He's scary good at wrestling and grappling, it'll be interesting to see where he goes from here.

Man, I don't know if Pitbull just gassed or what, but he had that fight won and just gave up....

Warren wasn't great, but I had to give him that decision because Pitbull just stopped trying stuff.

I had it a draw. Gave Pittbull a 10-8 for the first round. He dominated every aspect of that round and Warren had to be saved by the bell.
