Agree. Obviously its purely speculation so we will see once the official numbers are released but when youve got people calling into Jim Rome pre-fight and saying that they never watch UFC but are going to get this PPV just to see if this loud mouth can back it up, you can certainly see where they might have picked up quite a few buys. Sonnen sounded like a nut job at times but even 900,000 buys is amazing considering the general feelings right after it was announced that it was going to be a main event at this PPV.

Re: UFC 117 - Anderson Silva v. Chael Sonnen
I know personally when this fight was announced I was pretty lukewarm on it, and assumed it might turn into another Silva dance off, but then Chael opened his mouth and by the time the fight rolled around I was in a frenzy.Comment

Re: UFC 117 - Anderson Silva v. Chael Sonnen
See I knew it had to be a reason why Anderson was just laying on his back and not really trying to get up and why Chael was able to take him down over and over again with no resistance.
I mean even Chael said it himself he was surprised how easy it was because there was no resistance. That being said.......to fight 5 rounds with a cracked rib is just WOW. The pain he must have been feeling to have somebody 185 pounds laying on your cracked rib must have been intense.
Hats off to Anderson for even fighting with a cracked rib and lasting 5 rounds.Comment

Re: UFC 117 - Anderson Silva v. Chael Sonnen
So realistcally.......Anderson won't fight again until June or July basically.....because even though he will be medically cleared by March.....who ever he will fight will be 3 months after his clearance at the earliest.
In the mean time.......I say let Sonnen fight Belfort. That way Belfort won't be sitting on the sidelines forever.Comment

Belfort will either fight Sonnen in Germany at 121 or W. Silva.Comment

I hope they do Belfort/Sonnen for the #1 contender...Sonnen earned it and since Belfort can't fight Silva until Mar/April they can't have him sitting on the shelf that long. Sucks for Vitor, but would be fun for us to watch.

So that takes out Wandy. Maybe Maia if Sonnen cant fight that soon and if he beats Miranda. I just think Belfort needs to win at least one fight at MW before getting a shot at the belt.Comment

Re: UFC 117 - Anderson Silva v. Chael Sonnen
Sonnen and Belfort is a perfect way to handle this IMO... give Chael another chance to get right back in the saddle since he he was so close to beating Silva while not keeping Belfort waiting around longer for a quality fight and give a guaranteed title shot to the winner.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment
